I have recently moved up to Glasgow for the year and bought my bike up with me, I've not ridden it properly for a few years and was pretty shite even when I was riding. So whereabouts is there to ride in Glasgow which is n00b friendly? I have a free day tomorrow so feel as though I should get off my arse and try riding again!

Just been having a sort through my stuff from my uni house and come across my climbing shoes and chalk, which I bought second hand during first term with great intentions of climbing at the indoor wall multiple times a week. In reality I used them about 3 times and can't see myself using them again! Hoping someone can help... I drove my car to uni this morning and the steering is feeling pretty light and almost feels as though the car is wandering/ floating over the road and occasionally dives off to the left (but sometimes to the right) I think it was feeling a little odd last night too, but I don't recall hitting any potholes to have knocked the tracking or anything out, any ideas what it could be? Its a mk2 Scirocco if that makes any difference. *edit* Just had a look underneath to find my lower strut brace (Bolted onto the wishbones) was very loose so I presume it was the wishbones (Rather scarily) shifting about causing the random direction changes!

I don't suppose anyone has a 32/34 dmtl Weber carb they're wanting to sell?

My current Mk2 1.8 GT2 Scirocco: It wants lowering and a few other bits doing... once I have some pennies!

Iv just built up my bike onto a new frame, however the head tube must be a lot longer as the steerer only reaches the middle of the top bolt (at a push) with no spacers between the headset and the stem (is that ok to do?) so looks like this: Is it ok to run it like that or will it all end in tears?

The new wheels are 14" BBS RZ's off an BMW E30, which I don't think are too much wider than the original steels, so should I be alright swapping them? But im not entirely sure on the offset, il have a proper google later and try and find it out.

I've recently bought a new set of wheels/ tyres for my Scirocco, however the tyres on the the new wheels rub on the arch when turning so I was wondering if I could just switch the tyres from the old set of wheels to the new ones? The old tyre/ wheel combination is: 185/60 R14 and the newer set is: 195/65 R14, would the extra width be a problem?

Having bought my Scirocco Last week, it looks as though I might not be able to actually drive it until the 21st+ August, gutted to say the very least! I bought it knowing I wouldn't be able to insure it (For sensible money) until the 15th August once I had got my 1 years NCB, so sent off to SORN it yesterday. However, I have only just read the small print about then having to have it off the road 21 days, f**k. So it looks as though il have to re-insure the Polo until then, unless i've got it completely wrong and can tax it before the 21 days? (But still be able to claim back the £150 odd tax that's still on it)

Just put a deposit on a Mk2 Scirocco GT2 (Definitely not at all inspired by the other mk2 'roccos on here at all ) Should be a nice change to my 1L Mk2 polo! A quick pic I took before we left it:

My first go at building a SS... all done for the grand total of £30 + a spare freewheel I had kicking around. Pretty happy with it for the price Though I think it could look better with a white seat and bar tape

I've been given the door cards from a Mk2 Golf GTI from uni's rally project car and as I don't have a Golf, they're not much use. Anyone on here fancy them? / Would they be worth anything on eBay?
