  1. Everyone rides 24inch wheeled bikes, and do like tailwhips and stuff. Becouse a Scotish chap called danny made a video. Oh, and if your bike has brakes, your a loser... the only way to avoid this is to run a Hope disk with a rotor the same size as the wheel. anyway... welcome back!
  2. I live IN Swansea, and find pedeling my T-Pro mod bike around knackering... LOL, i wouldnt want to do a 60m round trip on my proper XC bike, i would never do it on my trials bike.
  3. Iv tried both, and disks can be great, but i love the easy adjustment and maintenance and feel of the maggies... So maggies for me!
  4. Iv been riding MTB for a few years, but (proper) trials for only a week or so. After getting to a point with my trail riding, progression is difficult, i can get faster, jump higher and ride better, but learning new skills is hard, and slow... its refreshing then to start something new and get back to the days of learning new stuff every ride, as a biker already, many of the basics (track stands, hoping, manuals) are already dialed in, and are making other stuff easier, and its so nice to head out and get stuff nailed down in like half an hour. For EG, last night i learned in just 45 mins how to side hop up stuff bigger than like a curb, (i can do benches now) and i also learned how to ride up a wall (not sure of correct term) over about 1.5 - 2 FT, by poping the front up and then either poping of the bash guard, or flicking the back up. I also got to a new record of 5 back hops. I know its all basic easy stuff, but its nice to make the progression, and to be learning ,and getting that feeling of accomplishment. The best thing is, Trials involves such a range of skills, ill still be learning for a LOOOONG time yet... LOL. I suppose it'll only get harder to pick new stuff up though hey.... your thoughts:
  5. took 5 a year early... 3 b's and 2 c's.... a bit gutted really , would have liked an A or two...! English - B pretty happy, im crap at english Maths - B expected, not bad or very good Geography - C what went wrong! one of my best subjects! would have liked a B at the very least French - C as expected, pretty happy i passed to be honest Physics - B bummed! my best subject by far! an A was what i wanted. Whats really anoying is that i got 95 % and an A* in one of my papers, an A and a B in two others, and then a flipping D on my cource work to pull it all down!

    New Hs33 Brake

UGLY! to be honest i cant see whats wrong with the current one... i love mine! although the 2 bolt clamp is a good idea. Im led to belive that these things are still pretty popular for XC, touring and the like in other countries, esp in the EU, so it might be more aimed at that.... i think the old one will be kept around for a while as its by far the best for Trials.
  7. Hmm, i would but its a square taper, and iv heard you shouldnt grease the taper...?
  8. well, nothing (other than the freewheel, a little) moves! im gonna chek its not the pedals, and grease them up.
  9. het all.... gonna go out now to try the things youv said. if it makes any dif (?) the front sprocket, the bit that freewheels is quite free to move side to side, only by a couple of mm, but it wobbles a bit... not sure if thats noymal or not... if not how do i fix it> is it a case of removing the drive side cranks arm and replacing/tightening/servicing the freewheel? thanks
  10. Just got an old (06-07), but mint t-pro.... the cranks creak when you pedal hard, its quite a loud click, in about the 10-11 o'clock position on both sides, so that's twice per full revolution. I cant work out whether its the cranks, or a shot BB. The crank bolts are done up tight... although not mega stupid tight, just well firm. iv never had a Mod bike before, and never had a front free-wheel before. Any one got any idea's? Is it time for a new BB? or is it just torquing it up , with maybe a bit of locktite? thanks! JP
  11. Both Pee pots and more normal XC/AM style helmets are fairly common... personaly i wear my Giro Xen that i wear for everything from trials to trail and AM.
  12. hey bud, im in Swansea, and like you have only just started riding, although i prefer riding alone most of the time, and im only 15... still at least you know your not the only one!
  13. IM probably going to grind my rims in the near future, but for the time being, where do I buy Tar for my rims... im running Mag HS33's.
  14. Hey all! Have asked a few Q's on here already, seems like a pretty good site! Havent been riding Trials long, although MTB for a few Years, those of you that are on BikeRadar may recognise me.... Currently just hoping around on my normall MTB, but have been donated a Onza T-pro with ltd ed team kit in custom lime green from a mate that used to ride pro.... so thats gonna be awsome once I get it next week! looking forward to using this forum, and hopefully developing some skills on a MOD bike! BTW, my name is Josh Price, im from Swansea in south wales, and im also into XC/Trail riding, and surfing, skimboarding, skateboarding, and most things with a bike or board!
  15. WOW! thats awsome... thatl be sealed then! Nike 6.0's it is!
  16. Great! thanks for all the hlep lads! IM either gonna go for some 5.10 freeriders, or some nike 6.0, depends on wich comes out cheaper. unless of cource i spy a particularily nice pair of vans..... Also, while im here, stupid question, im probably going to grind my rims, but in the mean time where do i get tar?! :$
  17. Hey all, new here! Have been riding normall MTB for a few years, but have recently got hold of a T-pro from a few years back, with a fully custom pro set up used by Jamie White a few years back. That connection was a pretty sweet find.... The point is, i now need to lear to actually ride it, and find out what I need. First on my list is shoes (i have all the protection stuff from normal riding), I need these shoes to be good for both trials, a bit of general chilling and goofing around and to be OK for Skating the morning paperround. Im pretty skint, so my shoes need to multitask. On the trials front im pressuming a slightly flexy soft, taky rubber sole is the best option. So far my thoughts have been: 5.10 Freriders - pretty much perfect from what i can see, but expensive, and im not sure what the lifespan is like. Duffs 4130's (or whatever they are called) - again pretty good, prob not as grippy as the 5.10's though, but they are cheaper. Vans of some description from TK.Maxx - pretty cheap, and generally comfy and quite grippy, the simplest option. so what d'yall think? BTW, you may know me from BikeRadar.....
