cheers I'm doing novice (quite embarrased bout it because i kept being told to do inter :$ ), im only doing it because its my first comp and i dont really know what the sections look like s dont know what to expect

Got a comp tomorrow and dont know what to wear, it says long trousers reccomended and shin protection but i dont have shin protectors and if its hot then i want to wear shorts, is this just a safety thing, will shorts be fine? what do yous all wear for a comp? And out of interest who on here is going to fort bill comp?
