  1. Hi,

Got my rockman built today and at first part of one link of the chain was touching the frame. Managed to get that sorted by using a freewheel spacer and the sprocket run the opposite way.

However, it's fine when the bike is rolling but when i kick or land something the chain bounces up and hits the frame slightly. Is there any way to fix this or is this normal on these frames (manus 2) and i just need to put a carbon sticker- thingy or another chainstay protector on the upper chainstay. Will upload pictures if needed/

    Thanks for any help

  2. Hi, just thought I'd update this with some more detailed pictures of my rockman :) Had a couple of rides on it and it rides amazing! Currently being really gentle with it but i just need to get used to the way it rides i think. Also added some Stan Ti bolts since i bought it.

Unfortunately the stem is still a black one :(

  3. Hi,

I've just made the switch to dual disc but i have no idea how to set a disc brake up. Does anyone know of any videos that will show me or if someone can explain how to? It's probably pretty simple but i'm clueless haha

    thanks

  4. I found that I would hold the brakes too hard (from tgs, again) when I didn't need to pull them as hard as I did.

This was a major problem for me in the last comp I did, by the last few sections I literally couldn't pull my brake as much as I needed to and this made me roll out when I landed things. If you're doing intermediate and after a couple of sections find it too hard you can always change to novice.

  5. I've never ran a plate before, always had a bashring but thought it might be a better idea to use a plate with this frame since it's weaker than any I've had before. It's fine though, I'll stick with a ring, thanks for your help :)

  6. I ordered a rockman manus 2 the other day and I'm not sure if I should order a bashplate or not.

If I was to use one, could it potentially crack the frame after some hard hits or does the style of bash plate mount it has stop that?

I don't know if a bashring would be enough protection for that area of the frame, I'm left foot forward so if I failed something like a frenchie ( at an angle) would the bashring stop me from hitting the frame most of the time?

Any disadvantages of running a plate opposed to a ring? (other than a bit more weight)

    Cheers for any help :)

  8. haha cheers man!

Yeah I've tried that before, I just can't do it :o

And what do you mean with "my style"? Just curious:)

You just need to keep practising the other way, then it starts to feel nicer.

Your style of riding, the way you ride, hard to explain haha :P

  9. Nice edit, and as always your ridings improved.

Though I think you could benefit from sidehopping the other way, a few people I know have went from the "wrong way" as some call it to the "right" way and it massively improved their side hops. :)

Apart from that your style is really nice too!

  10. Yeah that's what I thought, shame really, I don't want to screw up the colour scheme but at the same time I want to put a bashring on. Adam@Tarty says not to use bashrings on 160&165mm cranks, yet I have been doing so for nearly half a year with no issues.

Trialtech 160s and 165s are fine with a bashring, it's the rockman/try all cranks (160s and 165s) that can't fit them due to them having less threads :)

  11. I dont think they have a certain time, just when they are developed and fully tested

And you would hope that with the warranty, but sometimes they come up with silly excuses on why that its not fit for cover and its not usually down to you

So if it cracks down to poor design, and they say it's not fit for cover, do you get a discount of another frame or something?
