  1. Been working on a website for www.kitefreestyle.com for a while now, Basically an online tv show run/edited by some seriously good riders each sponsored by a range of THE biggest kite/board/equip manufactures in the game... Almost for this reason alone and the fact I've gotten into kiteing recently is more than enough of a reason to be loving this project! anyways...

We had a quick chat, threw some ideas around and he told me to just hit photoshop and see what happened... Projects like this are always cool as i'm allowed to just go with it and see what happens. Using his logo and with some basic guidelines this was concept 001.

Initially I really liked this design, Certain elements of it worked nicely but it was decided that some areas needed adjustment.

Shortly into a rework, it really really wasn't coming together.. Decided to include just because, might be useful/interesting for someone :)

Next big step came, Decided it would be cool to run an introduction video, explaining the site, the video and their purpose' - Also the idea of a free monthly download calender (also my designs)

After talking it through (still very much work in progress) we decided that enphasis must be on the main video feature which we now wanted to shift from 4:3 to 16:9 (widescreen) which would mean loosing the intro video due to browser/space issues :(

Further development, He needed advertising space included but its positioning wasnt great for smaller browsers so we re-addressed the issue.

The final edit, Chopped into html/css and 100% W3C compliant!

Must admit he has changed/added to the html so not sure how compliant it is now, and also VANDALISED my small graphic but hey, its his project!

Anyways check it out, watch the vid - it might not be trials but its still fcuking cool!

  2. Ive got a fairly old but perfectly working saphire 9800xt pro (the 256mb edition) The problem is the fans on the way out, sometimes stalls or makes a pretty bad noise.

I want to replace it asap and have been looking at third party VGA cooling fans (zalman etc) but have no idea if theyre card specific etc and need some help.

Can someone find me something to get? Ive taken the existing cooling unit apart, tried to fix the fan etc but replacing the fan alone doesnt seam to be an option. Help me please!

  3. I just read this. Seems like pretty strange rubbish advice to me.

Your weight should be central on the board, 50-50 between your feet. Otherwise you'll be twisting the board when you're trying to move from edge to edge which makes it much harder to turn. The only time you ever need to lean back is in deep powder, if your nose keeps going under. It's piss easy to turn in powder so you don't need much weight on your front foot.

Also, you're much less likely to catch an edge if you bend your knees. Or at least, if you do catch an edge you're less likely to crash if your knees are bent and you can compensate. As a complete beginner you'll catch edges all the time because of poor technique, but as soon as you get a bit better you'll only catch edges when there's some slight undulations in the snow or something to catch you out. This is when bending your knees and keeping relaxed and fluid is doubly important.

agree, very bad advice, weight should be on the foot in the direction you want to travel... also bending the knees helps absorb any bumps etc which might throw your weight and result in an unwanted edge -> face/ass -> tumble!

Just before the credits on #4 (IV - lock and load) I cant stop watching, the commentary, the music and the footage from x games are breath taking. Ive must have seen it 10+ times and i get goosebumps every single time! Absolutly amazing.

How gash is that? Firstly Windows is poop, Internet Explorer is poop, WMP is poop. An they don't say anything about using Linux.

edit: so I've got to install Windows XP virtually on my laptop, an then I'll be able to play it an if I wanted to rip the program onto Linux. What is the point in all this DRM shit, it doesnt' actually stop people sharing Digitally Protected stuff, it just makes it more inconvenient.

get virgin media/cable then and you can watch it on catch up tv..
