  1. Yeh I've read that the frame is really good. I'll let the guy know I'm interested, thanks for your help
  2. ok cool, well as my first full-sus it should be fine then
  3. well if you see one for this price let me know has anyone had one? or know what they're like to ride?
  4. hi all, needs some advice... I friend of my dad's is selling a Giant Trance X5 2010 for £500. It's got Avid Juicy 5 brakes instead of the standard x3 and is in good condition as far as I can tell so was wondering if this would be a good buy? I'm after a bike mainly for trail riding so I can make the most of the Yorkshire countryside while I'm at Leeds Thanks for the help Ben
  5. can't believe I didn't notice this earlier I'm new to trials and just started uni at Leeds so would have been good to meet some people and learn the local spots next time you meet up send me a PM and I'll join you
  6. I would go for that... but I want the blue rim to match my pedals i see... too many options!!!
  7. Valid point... you cant upgrade to a FFW though with a pro 2 plus most rims seem to be 32 hole so if i went for a pro 2 and wrecked my rim, I'd be limited for choice :/ I'll have to think lol
  8. I thought you where gonna say that I've got a 36 hole rim at the moment so might as well treat my self to a full wheel. Probably going to go for: Echo TR rear hub Echo TR rear rim Echo SL 108 Black spokes Try-All XXL rim tape and a wheel build All for £190 including postage.
  9. fair enough, that sounds like a good plan lol I've emailed tarty bikes and the echo sl is out of stock for 3 weeks so would I be better of waiting for it to come back in stock are any of the others (like the Rockman sport) any good?
  10. thanks for the replies everyone I've not got threaded cranks and can't afford them at the moment so can't go FFW. If I went for the Pro 2 would I probably have to get new spokes?
  11. I need more engagement points on my Phase but don't know whether to go for a fixed hub and get a freewheel or go for a better freehub... currently the options are Trialtech hub and Echo SL freewheel (£102) or Hope Pro 2 trials (£110) any suggestions as to which would be better? thanks p.s. I want it to be loud

  13. cool ive sent you a text, you'll have to let me know when and where you wanna meet up
  14. thursdays good. I'm done at the uni at 1 so any time after that is good for me
  15. BUMP!!!! so I'm now at Leeds uni and having survived freshers week its time to ride again so basically, does anybody want to meet up for a ride some time this week?
  16. geez thats a big argument lol I'm riding a stock Phase 1.1 atm and i aggree the back end is quite heave and the free hub ain't great. so why bother wasting £60 replacing perfectly good forks when you could just save up a little bit more and get a new rear wheel which will fix both problems (weight & freehub) Or just do what i'm planning on and pick up a decent second hand one off here for half the price
  17. thats me XD I havn't had any other bikes but I like it but yeh you will defiantly want to single speed it. Is everything on the bike standard?
  18. the others are me and a friend of mine, we've only been riding a little while so can't do much, but gonna come along and get some tips and pics
  19. £10 thats much better than the £50-odd most seem to cost If I got a wheel with a fixed hub would I be able to put one of the ACS claw freewheels on it? (or another type if I find one cheep on here)
  20. yeh i've been having a look in there, just trying to decide whether its worth getting a new hub now or just getting a single speed kit and then getting a new wheel when I get better :/ I know i'll make a poll! I don't think I'm doing anything sunday so should be able to come I'll send shawn a text and see what he says then let you know
  21. yeh I've noticed that there aren't many 36 hole hubs, but don't really have the money for a full new wheel :/
  22. nah havn't got the kit yet, trying to decide if its worth getting a new hub... i've got a booster though, thanks to dave biddle try adjusting how your wheels is in the dropouts, it could be that there not perfectly lined up so you need to have one side of the hub further out (if that makes sense lol) and that cable is crazy if it works it should be fine, be careful not to catch it though, looks a bit fragile
  23. if you mean this part... its just called the rear triangle
