Motorbikes more so supermoto, fix my car when it breaks but have no interest in it although I do love cars. Just not shit ones. Like mine. But I do have an obsession for cleaning cars/bikes lol.
  3. I have rode MTB for years then decided I wanted to get into trials. I went for a mod as it seemed I can get more for my money and I didn't want to spen much anyway so went second hand and bought an Onza Blade. First hour or so on it felt so weird, I couldn't even trackstand which I could easily on a MTB. Since then I'm used to it now and can only hop about on the back wheel learning pedal kicks and stuff but I've not had it a month yet but I've improved loads and I'm better on my MTB now. When I can afford it I want a 26" but I may be looking toward a hex or something as street appeals to me more. But I love my mod to learn and see if I like it
  4. Ahhh thanks, so I can do it either of those ways then. One thing, why is it just a bolt and not a bleed screw on the slave cylinder :@ spose I just need that bit of tube and the right connection thing from tartys? Think it's about £2? I dont mind just annoying waiting for delivery and last time I checked they were on order too. Not to worry though just wanted to bleed em and get em proper when I grind my rim today or tomorrow. Thanks guys
  5. My bike has HS33 slaves but a Julie lever like this one: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=9437&utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=Google-Products-UK I've looked at guides on bleeding and this doesn't have the bleed valve on the top like a hs33 lever. There's also not TPA but that doesn't bother me too much. I want a proper lever and master cylinder but funds don't allow yet lol. And ideas on how to bleed this setup? Wouldn't mind trying a bath bleed to see if I like water? I watched revolvers guide but im thinking this will be a little different? Carl
  6. I had a HTC HD2 and it was terrible! Font get a phone that runs windows mobile it crashed at least 3 times a day! I got rid of it on eBay for £250 and bought a 2 week old iPhone 3GS for £280 and that's what I'm typing this on. I've had all sorts of phones and nothing has ever came close to this. Its jailbroke too so everything is free including Tom Tom sat nav which is just as good as a dedicated Tom Tom. It does everything I want it to and more! Only thing it's missing really is flash support I can't think of anything else I'd want to change. Since I bought it over a year a go it's crashed once. That's it. Never tried android though and they are suppossed to be as good if not better and you'll probably get or cheaper because they don't carry the iPhone status (which is one thing I hate about iPhones lol) Carl
  7. I've been practising, just with the endo then rock backwards method. For days and days I could only get about 3 sometimes 5 hops, now my record is 23 but not so much precision just bouncing about trying to balance lol. Want to try and throw some pedal kicks in soon I think but I really need some better pads (on magura blacks ATM :| anyone recommend anything for a smooth rim?). Does anyone have any tips for starting with a pedal kick rather than endo then jump back? I've tried it and can't seem to get it. My advice to anyone still trying to get it is practice, took me ages and ages but once you learn where the balance is and what to do when you go too far either way it comes into one. I was doing big hops now I take a little more time with smaller ones and it works much better.
  8. Not sure on trials bikes but on motorbikes I know know what I like. My husaberg (supermoto) has a 6 pot beringer front caliper with a solid cast iron disc. Compared to other setups this one is amazing! One finger on the brake at 90 and your on the front wheel. Best brake I've ever used. But the main reason for holes is to remove water I think? And to clean the pads in dirt/dust? In the wet the bringer has a delay of around a second ish as you get on the brake if you haven't used it for a few minutes. Quite strange to get used to. But in trials you need a good hold, so I'm thinking a solid disc may not work as well then? Iron discs are a he'll if a lot better than stainless though, apart from rusting but that's normally the sign of a good disc.
  9. Yeah mine takes mineral only so that's good. It may be, although my clutch lines are only small and I have no problems with that and it's super light. Suppose the only thing to do is try it. Aslong as it won't hurt it I'll give it a go.
  10. The reason I want to try it is because my clutch is magura and it's really particular about oil and will only use this type, so I'm thinking the brakes may be similar?
  11. I've just moved to trials and I occasionally find myself searching for the seat with my inside leg when trying to balance only for it not to be there so maybe that is the problem?
  12. Just because it seems a little controversial with some saying never do it and others swearing by it. Plus I'm always weary with anti-freeze on paintwork and stuff (does some damage in my experience) and I wouldn't like to use just water because of the freezing issue by I wouldn't like anti-freeze in there too. Also, it feels strange because I try so hard to keep any moisture out my motorbike brakes and then filling the whole system with water would just seem wrong lol. I know it's alright in trials because they don't get warm at all but it feels wrong lol.
  13. My motorbike has a hydraulic clutch (magura, used on KTM's husabergs etc.) and i can only use mineral oil. I've just bought the oil I need (putoline mineral hydraulic clutch fluid) for £4 for 100ml, which is a lot cheaper than royal blood. Just an idea but would it be alright to use as brake fluid in my HS33? I'm not keen on the water idea and royal blood is a lot of money so I night kill 2 birds with one stone and use this? Carl
  14. Meths - methylated spirits
  15. Had a look in the light this morning and the lever housing says 'julie' on it? And I've tried moving the rear pads closer to the rim but there's not enough left on em :/ I know this has probably been asked a million times but just incase theres anything new out, what are the best pads for a smooth rim? Carl
