  1. You know you're validated right As for the bolt can you not just leave the broken bit in there and run a slightly shorter bolt? Or is it too much still in there?
  2. I think you will be the guinie pig if you buy the new Echo rim as everyone else has lost confidence in them since the 06 rims were so sh*t... so if you do buy one then let us know how it is! Koxx rims are all the same... fluro or not they are the same material also worth considering are onza hog rear rims - exactly the same as the koxx rims.
  3. Yeah adam is on holiday.... Dave came back from his but now adam is off for a week and since he is the wheel builder i dont think he wants to be doing that while he is on holiday.
  4. Quality day Most enjoyable comp i have been to... and i came 3rd in Expert overall... and 2nd in 26 inch Some amazing riding going down from the likes of Slinger and Butler as well as some streety stuff from Ali C at the end of the comp top job. Thanks for organising.. hope to see you at the next one, but uni in london makes me sceptical
  5. This is the one you need, it will fit your bike. This is the trials specific version rather than the normal version which means it has 48 'clicks' (or engagement points) rather than 24, it is also designed to build an undished wheel which in turn is stronger.
  6. Awesum! That hook at 2:14 AMAZING! You really suit that Ashton Really love it!
  7. Well hello there guys and girls, Its about time i started to test the water to see who is around... Basically i am starting uni in Twickenham in 6 days and (of course) i am taking my bike. Thing is i don't know who lives in london and/or particually that area of London, and I don't know London from a riding point of view having never ridden there before. Basically i don't know yet when my spare time will be and i will probably be getting a job, but when i do get time to ride i am looking for some people to show me round. I love both street and natural and try to ride as much as possible. I am from Lancaster/Kendal area and usually ride with Tom Rigg, Adam Read, Dan Swindlehurst, Andy Brown, Steve Winder and many others. I ride expert in competitions (Tyke and YMSA) but am not one of these riders who won't do street So basically what i want to know is: Who are you, where do you live, what level are you riding at and do you fancy showing me round and riding with me in london? Thanks All Phil
  8. Deffinately Sounds like a great plan, and that will stop people putting it off cos they can't be arsed to walk to the letter box
  9. Why the f*ck you start talking about bubble gum pads in a topic about onza citrus pads? Flippin' read! I haven't owned citrus pads but Danny Swindlehurst had a couple of pairs, they seemed pretty good with a nice sharp grind... I think they wear down pretty fast though. Oh and by the way, just 'cause their yellow, doesn't mean they are ANYTHING like Koxx yellows... The colour of the compound means very little really.
  10. Really nice riding, how long has danny ridden for tartybikes? Never knew he was on their team?
  11. Amazing riding all round, can we please have it uploaded so we can download it?
  12. Am i right in thinking that if i am not a member of YMSA all i need to do is tick the 'not a member box on the entry form, and send a cheque for 20 instread of 10?
  13. I would say its almost deffinately a result of over tightening the drive side. If you can still see thread but they are mighty tight as you say, then you should of changed them. If i were you i would replace all the drive side spokes for 2mm longer ones. They are probably snapping at the hub end because thats where they are bent, hence a weak point at which pressure builds up - in this case pressure that is over loading.
  14. Click Here for the best feeling and best value for money bars. Zoo bars are shit compared to these. People dont seem to know about these because there wasn't a big release made on them... I got them and they are perfect, exactly the same PERFECT shape as the carbon ones, but they wont crack and they are half the price
  15. There will be both available as Deng recieved so much stick from people about making 'mod-stock's' only as they have come to be called. Personally i think all zoo frames are rank - they look like a kid has been let loose with a CNC machine and a fluorescent sticker maker. Kot for the win - nice to ride, more unusual than Zoo, nice to look at and not CNC'd from a single chunk of metal
  16. I had one for about 8 months and it was really nice. The BB rise is quite hard to get used to if you have ridden a normal bike, but i really loved it once i did. The only problem is mine cracked - i think i am the only person to do this? Either way its great if your going to be using it for street, but if you take it on natural with lots of hooks and stuff you will kill it. Its an accident waiting to happen because of one design feature that has been over-looked. Koxx had the same problem with the XTP's so they changed the design on the XTP R to combat this, and i suppose it worked. Either way i did really enjoy it, but if you want a frame with almost EXACTLY the same geo then the Gu is the one - i got it as a replacement and i love it, rides almost the same as the Czar and doesnt have the design that will kill it! One last point is that you CAN'T use Chris King funbolts in them as the dropots are too close to the weld for the bolt head to fit... so you will have to file down your frame if you want to use them... another design fault? PM me if you want more info because i have actually owned one of these bikes and i know what i am talking about... unlike some of the other people who replied, who i think just want to get 'validated.com'
  17. If you buy a standard set of maguras you will get those mounts and everything you need with them

  19. Sorry to be a retard, but where is the vid?
  20. Agreed... it's one thing to stick with things that work but why not try out new things? The only thing monty have ever tried out is different paint jobs Why not push standards and be innovative rather than being boring and waiting around for everyone else to try things? I mean, yes slate koxx but everyone laughed when they made bikes without seats now look. Yes i am sure the frames ride quite nicely, but why not make something that will have everyone cooing about and going, oh i can't wait for it to come out! As for the price... yeah overpriced considering the build quality - i had a close look at some a year ago and really wasn't impressed
  21. Go for these bars, exactly the same shape as the carbon risers but half the price and twice the strength. I have just got mine having been through 2 pairs of the carbon ones and and they are perfect... EXACTLY same shape as the carbon ones, and if they are too wide you can easily cut them down, unlike the carbon ones (which you might have problems with cutting).
  22. And for someone who likes stiff links Loving both bikes! I cant wait to see the Simtra in the flesh! i might decide i have made the wrong choice on my new frame when i see it! To be honest i am not so keen on the multi-coloured stickered forks, they just look stoooopid Looking forward to ride with you guys
  23. A in Dance - Full marks in all 3 practical areas and 88 out of 90 in written exam! B in Drama B in Art - 1 mark off an A D in Design - i couldn't give a shit, i built a full demo rig which we have used in 6 big demos U in General :$ I did take the piss on all the papers, in one paper i wrote 'PREMATURE EJACULATION' down the left hand side, then started each line with that letter, but unfortunately i couldn't think of any word begginging with 'P' for the first line, so i wrote, "Perhaps the question should be....." (I got 9 out of 120 for that paper anyway! )
  24. Well there you go then... Generally speaking it should be 1.2 (if you divide the chain ring with the rear sprocket size), i.e. 22:18 = 1.22222 = the way to be.
  25. Really good tom! You really are dam good! Decent vid, just want to say well done in the british champs, for those of you who don't know Tom is leading the way having won 5 rounds in his age group in the brits Keep it up!
