  1. If my memory serves me correct it is the non-drive side that is a reverse thread. Give it a quick google and see what comes up. Hope this helps
  2. Best way to singlespeed a phase is to purchase a singlespeed spacer kit and decide what tooth sprocket to go for and buy a tensioner. Take a look over at tartybikes.com That place will be your Mecca for trials parts. Hope this helps.
  3. Or just give tatry bikes a quick ring and they will probably tell you.
  4. See the link. Select your brake from the right hand side and watch the videos. Hope Videos
  5. With the Hope problem. What brake is it first of all? To me it does sound like a crap bleed. (sorry lol) Check this vid out it will help. And remember as the video says remember to roll the diaphragm on, it will push the air out of the reservoir. Hope this helps. Ross
  6. When you say Kraken i assume you are talking about the Carrera Kraken? If you are the Halfords sell a Disc brake specific rack for about £25 i think. And as for the frame. most budget frames are built to take all manner of accessories. Unless you spend upwards of about £700-£800 on a bike then expect it to have all kinds of mounts and lugs on the frame. Hope this helps.
  7. Thanks guys i am going for the 175's then. Cheers for your help!
  8. Thanks forgot to mention. Its a stock Echo Control 06 long
  9. At the moment i am running an old school 11-23 tooth 9-speed on the back and a 22 tooth chainring. May take it single speed in the future. Dont know what ratios i will be running if i do go single speed though.
  10. Hi guys. I have been offered some Middleburn RS7's by a mate and he has said i can have either 165mm or 175mm lengths. Just wondering what size would be best for trials riding. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  11. DMR V8's or V12's all day long!
  12. External BB's are stiffer than an ISIS or square BB as in they do not flex from side to side when applying pressure on the pedals. An external BB will require a certain type of crank to fit them, as you said your existing cranks will not fit. The crank you will need to fit would be a type like this:My link This type of crank has the axle attached to the drive side crank arm and will slide through the BB. Hope this sheds some light on your question for you. Ross
  13. Tried that but dont know wether to trust it. I have measured the ERD and it gives me an ERD of 5250mm. Which gives me a spoke length of 260mm but that still seems a bit long to me. This is one of many wheel builds i have done but this one is confusing me the most!
  14. Just got a try-all rear rim and i have a pro 2 hub. I can for the life of me figure out what spoke length to use. I know that is quite a big ask but i am really stuck. Any help appreciated. Thanks
  15. Hi all. Just bought a second hand echo control 06 from one of the member off here. I have cranks to go on the frame but my BB i knackered and i need a new one. The one i had in my old frame was a 68x113 isis and i know that will be too short for a trials frame. Just wondering what axle size would be best for the frame i have. Cheers in advance!
  16. I was going to add that even though i work for Halfords i get my spokes from my LBS. =
  17. Hi, I have worked for Halfords for many years. Started as a mechainc now i am running the place. (not being big headded, just letting you know i have experience) We do not sell spokes off the shelf but if you pop into your local store and tell them what size you need they will be able to order them for you through their repair system from one of our suppliers (Mavic or Sram probably) Beware though. Halfords can only get spoke in packs of 100. So your local store may get confused and charge you for 100. Hope this helps. Thats helpful. Thats Halfords! (to quote our new motto! lol!)
  18. Yes if you change to Dot 5.1 you will need to flush all the old Dot 4 out first. The trick to this is to buy Dot 5.1 that has a different colour to the Dot 4 you have in there now. That way when you bleed it all you need to look for is the fluid with the new colour coming through. Keep going for a couple of minutes just to be certain. The best way to bleed a syatem is to use a work stand and try to use the right bleed kit for the brake. If you cant get access to either of these then i suggest your local bike shop bleed the system for you. If you ae going to attempt it yourself then i suggest you use the Hope manual that came with your brake or watch videos on youtube to help you. Again hope this helps. Ross
  19. With Hope brakes you need to bleed it perfectly to avoid a spongy lever feel. Also i would recommend bleeding it with Dot 5.1 as it is thinner and will travel through with brake lines easier. With the master cylinder cap, screw it up so it creates a seal then maybe a quarter turn more and thats it. You can easily strip the threads on those tiny bolts. Hope this helps.
