  1. Already got a hope pro 2/3 team for that it just weighs a tonne
  2. Right so I see a fair few bikes with rear brake boosters, I know they protect your cable and that some frames have them built into their design but is there really a need in that extra bit of weight to compensate for breakages?
  3. If you've got a nice white rim don't ruin it with tar fgs, get a grinder on it but do a medium sharp grind if you can, and any of the Heatsink pads will work excellent in dry weather and also will be just as good in the wet. Saves you using tar mate
  4. Can't wait to this GU ready to ride...c'mon July hurry the hell up

  5. See back at my home in I England I have a Hope Tech Trial that needs new pads but I may just keep that as a spare as I wanna go back to double Maggie, but then again that would mean having to purchase disc forks -.- f.ck
  6. Due to my family moving over, as bad as it may seem it's hot and it's got some cracking riding spots, as for the language.... Well I genuinely cannot be bothered haha
  7. See I moved to France literally 5days ago :// sure as hell am missing the riding around Leeds, that's why I'm getting a decent bike setup so when I order to France I don't realise I've missed something haha Them Karbon forks bumped up the price to abit over my budget haha will stick with Echo Urbans 2013 for now
  8. I've gone and added the Try-All Karbon forks now and hmm to go front Maggie with what pads?? What are coust/adm pads? Can't find anything on tarty haha Ahh tell a lie I know what you meant by it haha they seem pretty top spec
  9. I've always used grip tape around my bars and always found them to be a nice grip until sweaty haha, but would you be on about the thin grips or the normal ones? I did at first want the Maggie's on the front but I dunno Maggie's are a pain in the arse...but if I did would having the Heatsink pads throw me over?? If so that's good
  10. Yeah that would be a bummer, thanks for the advice I'll get onto speak to tarty ASAP. Would you recommend any other form of Cranks? Wanna keep this bike nice and light haha even though adding a disc has increased the weight to 9.1kg
  11. I've spent allot of today chopping and changing bits and bobs. Got an Echo TR on an Echo TR Disc Hub Trialtech sport lite rear rim Monty M5 Freewheel Echo TR HYD Disc with Jitsie pads Rear Jitsie screw on sprocket And yes I did the platforms in this edit as well Gone for a higher Stem Echo TR 170/30 And the grips?? Are they better for lasting and feel or?
  12. Can't wait to have this custom spec GU in my hands
  13. I think it looks so much nicer break less and it'll probably be a tonne lighter to ride
  14. Happy now lads? Haha probably not but it's the first bike I ever built from scratch
  15. Yeah I want them rims so bad but they're out of stock on tarty, gone for the Trialtech sport lite for the rear and Echo SL front
  16. Yeah I was tempted to put the 175mm cranks on, and I was thinking the trialtech sport lite rear? Would that work? If so with what sprocket and free wheel would you advise? I don't really like the 4 finger blades always seem to get in the way, I've always preferred the 2 finger blade as I only use 1 finger when riding
  17. Right so I'm doing this build a bike thing with tarty to get the GU 26" cheaper and better than the complete bike that they provide.. Now I know that some of the parts may either be known for breaking easily or whether they don't last very long, gunna put a list of he parts I've set up so if there's anything rubbish or worth changing on it please let me know Cheers Alex Frame - GU 26" Orange Forks - Echo Urban 2013 4bolt w/disc Front Hub - Echo TR non disc 32h Rear Hub - Echo TR Rear non disc 32h Front Wheel - Inspired Team 26" CNC Sidewall Rear Wheel - Inspired Team 26" Rear CNC Sidewall Front Tyre - Try-All Shift 26" Rear Tyre - Try-All Stiky Lite Rear 26" Brakes - Both Magura HS33 2014 2 Finger Blade Brake Pads - Heatsink CNC Yellows Cranks - Trialtech SL Forged ISIS 165mm Freewheel - Rockman 72 click (18t) Rear Sprocket - Echo Splined 15t Chain - ZMC Z610 HX 3/32" Pedals - Echo TR Caged Bottom Bracket is fitted with the frame - Echo Urban ISIS Bash ring - Trial Symmetric Drilled Version Headset - Echo SL Stem - Echo TR 165mm x 25 degrees Grips - Try-All Foam Bars - Try-All Carbon Riser That's pretty much the bike I've built.. To my standard it seems pretty sick but I've heard that allot of parts aren't as good as they make out when it comes to physically riding, so let me know whether there is anything I should definitely change Cheers Alex According to Tarty this bike will weigh in at 8.95kg and cost around £1452.54 which is £100 cheaper than the full bike on tarty... And it's my own custom, to be honest I like the sound of this bike.
  18. Yeah that's the same setup i was thinking
  19. Any rear sprockets you could recommend? And what's the splined mean? And screw on? Just so I don't go buying something that won't work well haha
  20. Really confused with all this 15-18t stuff.. Could someone please explain as I'm building up a bike and want a good gear ratio. Any info guys?? Cheers Alex
  21. Cheers dude but never really liked the feel of the high risers Bloody hell 180mm!! That's mental haha and yeah gunna be getting them try all carbon bars they seem pretty sweet to ride
  22. Yeah I've had stackers on my 20" bikes and they did make it feel higher front end, may be worth spending a few more quid and getting some spacers to trial and error it Cheers Alex
  23. Yeah thinking of going for the Rockman Forged 150 x 30 Going from a mod to stock was and still is the best decision I've made with biking
  24. Doesn't matter too much but I always found that having the rear tyre slightly less pressured to the front tyre e.g 20psi for the front and about 18psi for the rear.. I like my tyres to bounce a little when on the back wheel but not so that it would detach from the rim haha.. To be honest it depends on how much you weigh, I'm 6ft4 and weigh about 13/14st 90 odd kg and I have my tires started at 20psi and let air out if need be
  25. Cheers dude I'll give it a shot
