By my understanding the file doesn't exist till you put it there... I've PM'd anyways :-
  2. I do visit NMC each time I browse the forum. I don't tend to stay in there long as 90% of the post seem to be "read the guidelines". Though that does make it extra refreshing when I come across a decent topic :o
  3. In reference to Jame's above post... "Is it wrong that it tastes soooo good?"
  4. I don't really agree with the first one, but the other two made me giggle (Y)
  5. 15% For me (Y) And Andy I can agree with you getting 44%, you are a chav at heart :D
  6. The reason you don't see Bill around here is because he no longer rides trials, he's gone on to Freeride, not because Admin stopped posts in chit-chat adding to the post count... Sm's are generally chosen due to them having a certain level of maturity in their posts and having contributed well towards the forum (ie, being as helpful as they can, not flaming people at every chance etc). Doesn't necessarily mean we are better or that we know more than everyone else. I think the idea is a good one, it gives members something to aim for (if they are that way inclined) and promotes good posting.
  7. My attempt: Lowered New alloys Change colour Smoothed Debadged Carbon bonnet Replaced lower grill with mesh Tinted windows Removed aerial Side vent and finally I chopped the roof to make it lower.

Also be aware of RSI (repetitive strain injury) in the wrist, caused by the constant use of a mouse and keyboard. Luckily I didn't suffer from it, but many of the people I worked with did.

The engineers at the small company I worked for last year got payed about £17,000. I got payed less as I was a student. The majority of jobs that involve CAD may be higher payed but that will be because they are doing more than just the computer work. As for the job getting boring, it would depend on the variaty of things you were modelling, similar things day in day out would get boring very quickly, but if there is a good variaty then as long as you enjoy CAD then it shouldn't be a problem.
  10. Andy has convinced me to come along, not least because he needs a lift :D See you all there (Y)
  11. If you are just going to be welding steel then I would suggest staying with some form of mig welder. I'm not really up on the specifics of the equipment, but you seem to have a decent shop nearby so their advice would be very useful. And finally (without wanting to sound in anyway harsh), I think there is still room for some improvement in you welding. The welders where I worked last year were producing mig welds that were extremely neat and would put some of the welds on our bikes to shame :) my efforts on the other-hand were more akin to yours :turned:
  12. Haha yeah there's quite a likeness going on there Ad
  13. You're not the only one :turned: I just don't seem to have any enthusiasm over sidehops, so I've never really practiced them. The last few attempts I've had were somewhat shocking mind. Think I may have found something to learn over the summer :)
  14. The multi shot can be useful if you want a long move, but not as a video. It will require a bit of photoshoping to get right but the results can be impressive. I've found the most useful features for me have been a zoom (for when you can't get close enough) and a setting for high speed shutter (when moves get a little faster). I'm certainly not one who likes to spend half an hour setting up a shot :S An example of multishot:
  15. I've been immensly impressed with my Canon Powershot A75. Admittedly it takes 4xAA batteries which may not be seen as a good thing, but I bought a set of 8 2000mAhr batteries plus charger from the same shop for a very good price and from what I've experienced you can never have too many spare batteries. It's not actually that bulky for the amount of batteries (something I was a little concerned about when purchasing it), and the placement of the battery compartment makes for a very comfortable grip. Spec wise its a 3.2 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom. It has the ability to put new lenses on (such as fisheye, and various other zooms). It has the multi-shot feature plus lot of other modes and settings if you want to dabble. But from the sounds of it you are like me and just want it work out of the box, and for that the 'auto' mode is excellent, I've hardly used any of the others. Lastly it's simple to use, connecting to a pc is as simple as connecting the cable and turing on the camera, I've not even had to install any drivers. It's a quite an old model, so availablilty might be an issue, though I found the other two from the same range (the A85 and A95) here at the place I got mine from. The also do the two Canon cameras you mentioned. I would certainly recommend Canon as a make from what I've experienced :S
  16. Biggest I've pulled off was 46/47" over easter. For a while I could go no higher than bar height, but as said above I've started to tap a little lower and the extra height came pretty easily.
  17. Twas the first friday night of this term, as opposed to a senior member gathering. The whole union was packed that night.
  18. Well there's one in my profile (as stated before), but here it is again for those who don't like to click too much :( I be the one right at the fron in the green(ish) t-shirt. Other t-f members to note include 'Tank_rider' on the far right (not quite sure what he's pointing at...), 'On that you must be joking' in the Fox t-shirt on the left and ' Fuse' right-centre in the white top. And Smithy you look like a gay viking in that pic for some reason :S
  19. To be honest, it isn't the best looking bathroom ever (though I have seen worse, namely our student house bathroom, prior to the 2hr cleaning session we gave it (Y) , not something worth thinking about), though if it's in the process of being redecorated, then I'm sure it can be forgiven :- Just one question though... why take a photo in the bathroom? Certainly not something I've ever contemplated.
  20. There is a reasonably recent pic of me in my profile :S
  21. That's the only reason I have it installed, though I also use it on the odd occasion to create an image...
  22. Alcohol 120% is a great little program for cd images (creates, burns and mounts better than most other things I've tried). However, it is ONLY for images, so you will need something else for other files. I personally run a copy of both Nero and Alcohol 120%
