  1. From the way you've explained it, I'm guessing the virus you can't remove is a file somewhere in your documents. If you are looking to delete it, try using DOS to get to the file, that might get around the disappearing windows... If not then it looks like formatting is the only way :(
  2. No, because you don't have a case :ermm: Modified or not....
  3. I had a similar problem with my Corsa (current shape), until I removed the glovebox and found a small rubber gromet with a couple of cables passing from the interior to the engine bay. If you have a really good look you may be able to find something similar (sometimes they are the same colour as the body work with doesn't help). Failing that, as you seem to have found some wires passing between the cars panels, try feeding some thinish cable through (about the size of the stuff you get with most car speakers) and see where it pokes out. If it comes out somewhere handy, attach it to the end of the amp powercable and try to pull the lot back through. It may work, it may not, but it certainly helped me when wiring my stereo up :o
  4. The only case mods I've done involved cutting a big-ass hole in the side panel for a 120mm fan and a few smaller holes on top to let heat escape... I'm not overly bothered about having loads of lights and things, I'm more interested in cooling performance.

    Computer Help

I definately agree that you could spend the money for the 3gig of ram better elsewhere. There are plaent of programs out there that need that kind of capacity (I run a few of them myself), but not the ones you are talking of. Video editing might run smoother with a little more, but you're hardly gonna struggle with 1gig, and games will run just fine. My pc has 1gig of ram installed and the only time I ever push it to the limit is when doing CAD (and even then it has to be with a largish model or assembly).
  6. Windows "Not Stricly Legal" Edition, that generally implies the corporate edition seeing as that's what gets released...
  7. Yeah you should have no problems with updating Windows "NSL Edition" via automatic updates. In order to avoid having to change my cd key everytime I reinstall, I've found it hand to 'aquire' a copy of XP with each sevice pack integrated into the install
  8. All too tmepting when it's easy :) The Starlet is pretty beasty, but I prefer the Mazda 323 GT-R (150bhp 4wd) myself.
  9. I'm guessing he's got a tuned one then... they come with 133bhp as standard. Also, from what I've seen the standard alloys are not wide enough to put the power down properly.

    Cad Zoo

The software is available to most companies who can afford it. Programs such as MSC. Marc and MSC. Dytran are the cutting edge of this market with ability to consider a model within an environment which has a number of variables acting at the same time (such as temperature, forces, even fluid flow), as opposed to older programs such as Nastran, and Cosmos etc which could only deal with one variable at a time (this limits the accuracy of results).

Testing the tubes for mechanical properties (strength, etc) is quite easy. Replicating welds can also be done, though not with any commercial CAD package. A full blown FEA program such as Patran or Ansys would be more capable. Good effort though, looks rather good :P PS. The test option in Solidworks is utter wank, I used it last year at work and was not impressed...
  12. I was considering one of them back in November, but they were too pricey then, hence me going for the K700. The only thing I'd be wary of is whether that rotating bit is in any way flimsy, other than that it should be a top phone if other current SE models are anything to go by :-
  13. Time for a bump... Running in 1280*1024 with Style XP 2.16 (uses NO resources unlike older releases) and Objectdock for the toolbar. The background is a computer rendering of the soon to be unveiled Zonda F.
  14. That would be the S700i you are thinking of... I've got one of the "non-orange" K700i's and like Josh I've been nothing but pleased with it. Camera quality is reasonable considering its a standard VGA camera and should be fine for what you want. Texting and phoning on just about any newish phone should be trouble free these days. The only downside to this phone is that you cannot upgrade the memory, which you can on the 6230 (though the screen and camera seem to be better on the Sony).

    Aqua Thingy

Can't say I've noticed that, but then it's not exactly on my list of priorities :D

    Aqua Thingy

I can't really see much difference in them except Aqua dock crashes when I try to edit the each Icon. Object dock doesn't hence my choice.
  17. I come from Dover and its only 3/4hrs to Loughborough from there.... still a bit of a trek though. I should be coming along, so Andy can grab a lift off me as I gather that Ads is probably gonna give Bendee a lift. Btw Ads, do you know where you're gonna park, I have a fear of the usual spot since my car got broken into B)
  18. In our house we have a number of ps2's an xbox a dreamcast and pc's on an inhouse network... At the moment it's the pc's that are getting the gaming use (considering this term, the xbox and dreamcast are still in their boxes and the ps2 haven't been switched on). This thread however seems to be focussing on the rivalry between the xbox and ps2 and having plyed both of these quite extensively I feel I can make a reasonable comment. There is no doubt that there are games on both platforms which are worth buying each console for, and your preference really depends on what games you like to play. Myself, I prefer FPS and driving games. While the xbox certainly has the pick of the bunch when it comes to FPS, there aren't that many that can't be found on the pc (and those that aren't generally get ported over in the end anyway), plus the fact that I simply cannot stand using a pad to play FPS. Nothing beats a mouse and keyboard (imo) for shear reaction speed and accuracy. So although the xbox is possibly better than the ps2 in this respect, the fact that I own a decently specced pc means I don't really see the point. "But what about Halo 2?" I hear everyone cry. Well I didn't really like the first one, it was far too repetitive for my liking (which is also a gripe I have with Doom3) and from what I've seen the second one is not that much better. The online side of things may be what saves it in the eye of the xbox gamer, but there are better online games available for the pc... So for FPS I'll stick to my pc. What about driving games? This I feel is where the ps2 suits me better. The entire GT series has kept me occupied the most out of any games I've every played and imo are the best driving games on any platform. PGR2 was ok, but it didn't really hold my attention. The only reason we put PGR2 on now is to play Geometry Wars (the hidden game within PGR2) which is classic gaming at its best. So for me ps2 is the best and no-one can change that.

  20. I've got one knocking around at home... Can't for the life of me think where though (Y)
  21. I'm not complaining, I except that software companys will do their utmost to prevent piracy, which is why I don't moan when software releases through filesharing programs aren't perfect. I do believe we are a long way off seeing an end to all this (although HL2 took some doing, but I believe it has finally been successfully done), the majority of games and apps are still being released on the internet prior to their release in the shops...
  22. Maybe, the main reason is that EA got hold of the current keygens, and blocked all iterations on their servers.
  23. Although there appears to be a few online key cracks, I've been informed that they don't actually work... Happy hunting (Y)
  24. Don't stick your tongue out at me boy! We had to make our business game decisions in the last hour, so if our company goes under you're getting the blame... ...so :P
  25. I doubt I'll join in, I actually hate driving games on the pc (as I don't like using the keyboard and won't pay for a wheel :P). The only reason I have it on the pc is because its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper :-"
