  1. After having solved the bottom bracket issue on my Console I went out today to see how it rides. I remember @Ali C saying that a pogo stick bike for a beginner is like cheating as it makes things way easier. I kinda feel like this about the Console. Even though the bike is 1kg heavier than my 4play it feels a lot lighter. It bunny hops incredibly well and it's also a lot easier to stay on the rear when jumping onto a wall. It makes rolling onto a wall easier too and bunny hops to front as well. This must be placebo!

When rolling down some stairs I nearly fell over the bars as my weight is a lot further over the front than I thought. The same thing happened on the first couple of 180° pivots. Needles to say that I'm totally stoked.

  2. Now it's finished. Maybe another crank sometime in the future...

  3. So I've got myself a new frame (and it really looks like new). I'm waiting for the through axle to arrive so that I can mount and align the front brake. The tripod seatpost to mount the saddle will arrive in short time as well. It is heavier than my Fourplay but I like it more.

What I have to fix though (if it really needs fixing) is the bottom bracket setup. I put two spacers on the right and the chainring rubbed at the chainstay. Now I've mounted three on this side but I don't know if this is too much. I'm afraid of not having enough threads left to prevent damaging them. Anyone knows a solution to this?

  4. After almost getting a Marino Archive (sorry for waisting your time Ross), I've got a like new Console frame in green which I will be building up in no time. It's not an Arcade but I don't care about the dropouts so much and knowing me, I'll get a new frame in half a year anyways.

For those of you interested in the Silex frame. I just got an email from the TMS guys who told me that for 90€ you can choose your own color, or at least a different color. This one is called Lucifer.

  5. I don't see the problem here. I've been riding the Contis for about half a year now and haven't had a puncture yet. I weigh 90kg, am not a smooth rider and run 40-45 psi.

I also ride my bike to the spots and we have a lot of broken glass lying around in our city. No problem with that either.

I may not go as big as the better riders on this forum but as I said, I'm heavy and not as smooth as they are.

I think that the better you get, the bigger you go. This might be more demanding on the tyre but you'll also become smoother which reduces the stress on the tyre in turn.

We also don't really have a choice. And having had the Conti and the Holy roller in my hands side by side I can say that you notice the stronger side walls of the Conti a lot even though it's not much heavier.

One thing that might work is cutting down the knobs of a Maxxis but how long will it last then? It also costs more than the Conti which after half a year of riding 3-4 times a week, doesn't show that much wear.

It's meant to take 362. I will confirm soon as mine arrives :)

    Hi Nico

Yes absolutely chain stay are very short it makes the bike very nervous but it goes from 350 to 356

    350 chainstays? isn't that 20" territory?

Just got a response. They told me that the chain stays go from 350-356. You can run 18-13 or 18/14.

    Edit:

    Ratio possible is:

    - 18/14 18/12 standard chain

    - 18/13 half link chain

    - 22/15 standard chain

    - 22/16 half link
