  1. What a lie, dude. Hopes feels good in really cold, at least they survived a week on my bike. Also what about cars? There are many car brakes in the world that works well in -25.. -30 and even -60 and more. Because even -30 may be not so cold. Depends on air humidity, precipitation(snow) and wind. Because it's not only about temperature, it's about thermal conductivity of environment. This may be pretty fun in winter outside. But, I love summer very much and hate winter, but this is our climate.. And there are a lot of Russians that rides in -20. And not so much, but there are people who rides down to -30 and even colder. I'm about biking generally(road bikes, XC, DH/FR), not only trials.
  2. What about hoses? They are similar to the maguras ones and can be torn?
  3. Yes, I wanted to buy one but when I heard about problems people having with them I changed my mind. Buy it to throw them in trashcan after few days of riding in winter? Not a smart move. If brakes costs as much - they MUST be good and reliable in all conditions. if they're not - this is a bad product, no matter how good it's breaking abilities. So for all who lives in places with cold winter shimano=shit.
  4. So lets give an opportunity to SHIMANO to produce what they are good at:
  5. Experience of Russian riders tells us that Saints and other shimano brakes not the best option for cold winter riding. The problem was in seals that freezes and became non-elastic that causes damage to them. The same problem was with my echo tr brakes but in temperatures closer to -25 and colder. So the fact I'm sometimes ride outdoors in cold winter forces me to be pretty picky in choosing of brakes. Also one more good thing about my BB7 (that have HORRIBLE sound, lol. it was because of condensate) that they are pretty irrelevant to conditions they used in(wet/dry/sandy/dirty/cold/dirty half-melted snow/slop/whatever) with standard pads (or other Sintered(metallic) pads).
  6. What is the coldest temperature at winter in your city?
  7. I know some good Avids that will last many winters and have some incredible hold - BB7. Also bite is pretty good (not like maguras of course) and there are even not bad modulation. I liked it more than vee's and hopes race. Can't compare to trials hopes because I don't want to buy this shitty trial zones with standard hose (Tech lever + stainless hose FТW! but it's impossible to buy brand new now unfortunately). But I liked hope rather for cool and "armored" look and the fact they are pretty resistant to impacts and more reliable than many other hydraulic brakes (all the maggies and echos obscenely fast starts to leak because of it's stupid construction and bad dust/dirt resistance). Shimano brakes are not an option if you have some -5 deg and colder weather, because it may cause leakage.
  8. >shouldn't be awful Lolwhut? Element is awesome bike for street with awesome vee brakemounts. Geo is really good, it's one of the best bikes I've ever ridden. Now I enjoy more fourplay 2011 with a bit shorter chainstay. If you want a bike that's good for street trials, but still is good on riding pure trials I think element/fourplay with 90-110/30-35deg stem is the best option. And don't forget about skill. Bike won't do all the work for you. If I were you I'll take the element or some old fourplay and then, later, try marino/arcade/something other to know the difference and understand what's better for you.
  9. Damon, you sure? It's for everyone, not just him, and it's obvious than jumping ON much easier than jumping OVER.
  10. You can just think how to do dangerous trick/line with minimal risk + falling experience is a great thing (when you know what to do when something goes wrong and when falling isn't something special for you). By the way fighting fear is one of the most important thing in riding that directly affects on your progress. Someone said: "do something that scares you every ride". Also some parkour experience may help. I can just jump down from 4m on concrete without rolling, but afraid to do 2+m drops, and this makes me feel pretty stupid and cowardly. And almost always when I just walk and see on some stairs I want to drop on my bike or other thing I want to jump on/off/etc. I think "WTF, it's so freakin low, easy and noobish" but when I'm on bike it looks pretty hard/scary.
  11. Don't matter so much. Steroids FТW. Anyway there are millions of idiots jerking online for hours everyday/playing xbox/ps43/PC instead of having some real hobbies. I don't want to say video games are bad, just these persons are some real downers and there are even nothing to talk about with them. I think that you've got to have many interests and hobbies, some of them you have to be impassioned with (like I impassioned with riding for example) because you are a human, not a dog or hamster, and if you are a human you have fantastic potential and can achieve very much in various fields.
  12. I know some bitches in age of 30 and less that are complaining every day how they are scared to do 60cm drop and justifying lack of progress in their riding by age "UH-UH-UH I'm not so young as before so I cant do this extra--suicidely-dangerous 60cm drop". I'm sick of them.
  13. Well I almost decided what do I want. At first - I very much like these three framesets: 1) André's Marino Frame geo: 995mm - WB 25mm - BB+ 375mm - CS 75º - Hta 72º - Sta 270mm - Seat tube lenght 130mm - Head tube lenght 135mm/10mm - Hub spacing Reach??? Forks geo: 410mm lenght 25mm rake 2) Archive 74 980 +20 360 reach??? Forks: 410 30 3) Arcade Frame: 74.5 1000 +25 364 reach 675 Forks: 410 30 So it's pretty difficult to choose betwheen that three, or maybe to get something a little different from one of these. And I have few more questions that will help me to finally make a choice: 1) The reach. I'm afraid to get some too short reach (I'm 6' tall and one day I tried some "pure" street 26 bike and it felt so shitty I hated it, like a tabourette on wheels, extremely short and so low you will get a kyphosis and become humpbacked in first week of riding that bike) but.. maybe this is stupid because I have no experience riding other frames than element and fourplay. Now I feell myself pretty comfy on fourplay 2011 (73 1020 +20 380 reach 665) with 90x35 stem, 45mm of stackers and TT High Rise bars. And also I felt good on my Element (1025 385 +20 660) with 70x35 stem and 45mm of stackers on two wheels (but with that stem bike was absolutely uncomfortable on back wheel). 2) CS must be as short as possible (360)? Because it's just good and there are nothing bad in very short CS? 3) 74-75 HA. How it feels compared to fourplays HA. 4) +25mm BB seems to be ideal for 24 street-trials? And if someone have an expirience in riding fourplay 2011 (73 1020 +20 380 reach 665) and some of that frames or just know difference between them - can you please describe it? I'll appreciate any help, this is my last questions about geo.
  14. Just one funny fact: good polyurethane much better than most of the brand pads.
  15. Full geo are: frame: 995mm - WB 25mm - BB+ 375mm - CS 75º - Hta 72º - Sta 270mm - Seat tube lenght 130mm - Head tube lenght 135mm/10mm - Hub spacing forks: 410mm lenght 25mm rake ______________________ And yeah, this is the nicest marino I've ever seen.
  16. [serious mode] Maybe he have problems and need some psychiatric help, warmth and support. Don't be so heartless, guys! Let's try to understand him. Tolerance and stuff you know. [/serious mode]
  17. I ride it) Just want to get a new frame with streetier HA (74-75) and I need a fork with +30 offset for that frame because offset affects on front wheel tricks a lot.
  18. Guuuuys. WTF with my WB? Or fourplay 2011 has 1015 WB with Team fork?
  19. But isn't BH over bar is pretty harder than BH on obstacle?
  20. Be a MAN! Cut some HARDand expensive SHIT! Or maybe bend at least.
  21. I think it's pretty strange thing, I ride In clothes like that in +5 and colder. They may feel cold but it can't be bad for them and they can't get sick because human is human, doesn't matter where you born. There are even some africans lives in my city and they are pretty fast get used to climate. By the way, ~G~ you are so poor you can't even cut to pieces Skye or Arcade, so f**k off with your chineese tubes. And it seems that you ride brakeless because you can't afford brakes. And you did not buy this frames you cutted - you stole them, because you poor and poor have no money.
