  1. Cheers Bottleneck, I think im pulling the bars too high too early.

I ride a 09 GU Le 20" but used to ride a 26" which i found this move to be easier on. It took more effort to lift the front wheel in the first half of the move which probably helped in a way. With the 20" it feels far more sensative to giving it too much on the pedal stroke at the wrong time.

I haven't had much luck with bunny hops so far. I see its far more popular with benito ros and others at world cup level. I can bunny hop my mountain bike pretty well but it feels totally different on the trials bike!!?

  2. I've been riding for a while now and never been much good at them.

Consistancy seems to be an issue and also stopping me progressing to higher stuff. Sometimes i can do them ok but rarely more than 2ft and other times i feel like im looping out and fall backwards or just slam the bike into the wall etc..

    Any tips?

    Cheers!

    Sure, when/where do you ride?

Ride mostly at the weekends other than the odd hour or two after work. I live near eastbourne which has loads of rocks to play on and Newhaven has a fair amount of street riding and the gun emplacements up on the fort. Haven't been to brighton in ages, worthng is pretty good too but im sure you must know the spots around there?

  4. Does anybody else think that kids are taking part in less sports in general? Bloke at work was saying how local football clubs are struggling for numbers as teens would rather just play fifa on xbox. I do about 50% trials and 50% mountain biking and the majority of riders i see riding mountain bikes are in their 30s and 40s, i don't often see teens at all.

I'm 26 and usually only get out riding twice at week for an hour or so as work gets in the way. Teens have all the time in the world but most have just become lazy in this day of smart phones etc. where everything comes instantly. It takes a lot of dedication to just become very average at trials. The ratio of effort/reward just isn't high enough to keep most teens interested.

the footage for the elite final was good but the 20" final the coverage was wank! it kept skipping through stuff x

I found that too, think that was a problem on youtube. I watched it on facebook with no skipping :)

  6. I need to relace a 19" wheel for a mate but the sprocket won't budge. I've tried the chain in the vice trick and soaked it in oil overnight first but so far no luck.

Say i can't get it off will i manage to get the new spokes in with it still on? its hard to tell without trying but don't want to without being sure as there may be no going back!

    Anyone done this before?

    Cheers, Pete
