i've got no room for a crt really, it needs to be an lcd really, and i'm a bit f**ked as far as getting a non hd one goes now, might as well take the plunge, i'm using the red, yellow and white cables for my ps2, which i think are component cables, and a scart for dvd. is it going to look unwatchably bad?

so if i'm not going to use a hd source, then i'm better off buying a non hd tv?

i'm looking at buying one, but i'm worried as none of my inputs will be high def, (ps2, dvd player etc) will it all look absolute dogshit? it's got hdmi inputs, but i don't see the point running normal stuff down one of those cables, as it wont make the input any better. so if anyone could offer some advice on this, i'd be reeeally happy, because i don't want to drop £300 on something that will make everything look like shit.

it's a real dvd, and it works fine on all the others that i own, and all my games.

i recently invested in a slim ps2, thinking, i know, i can play games on this AND i wont have to buy a dvd player. well, it's refusing to play one of my discs and for the life of me i cannot work out why, it's region 2, no scratches or anything and it works fine of everything else that i've tried it in. when i bung it in, the ps2 either says, 'disc could not be read' or just refuses to show it up in the browser. any suggestions?
