  1. We had a few sets of these a while back to try on Hope Monotrial Brakes, but I think the verdict was they weren't really any better than standard Hope pads. If they are cheap, they might be worth a shot, but otherwise I would stick with standard pads :)

  2.

They aren't the same if that's what your thinking... :P

The new Echo FW's do set the standard though imo, especially the SL one.

To the opening post, the Rockman FW's are decent like Al says, especially worth it if you can get a cheaper one. They are pretty reliable too.

  3. Does this mean Koxx, which could theoretically prompt a Try-all sticky 24" tyre...

Which would mean that finally after all this time there could be a decent punc. resistant, grippy and reasonably weighted 24" tyre... oh i do hope so

We are currently looking to stock some more "trialsy" 24" tyres so keep an eye on the site. At the moment though I would say that 2.7" High Roller is a good bet!

    24" Conti Kaiser would own.

  4. That bike looks spectacular. I'm surprised at the weight of 10.2 kg though, but I'm sure you could have saved some weight on the tires.

10.2kg is pretty light for that sort of money. The majority of riders bikes weigh a lot more than they think.

  5. front end does seem low, plus those bars look pretty far forward, if you made the front end slightly higher plus tilted the bars back a tad it could help (and would make the bike ride better ;) )

  6. Very nice indeed! Brake mount looks quite stiff. What size rotor is on that magnesium Marta? 180 or 200? That rotor in 200mm is still lighter than hope 180mm one + marta is light too! I have 160mm hope with 180mm rotor, but still have 09 model Marta in 180 that I used for 2 month and wasn't too happy, is it worth swapping Marta on 200mm over hope 180? It will obviously give more power, but more than a hope in smaller size?

My Marta has a 203mm Aztec Wave rotor with it and I'm super impressed by this setup. I've used Hopes for years, but this was an experiment and I'm really happy with the pimp Marta/203 setup. Still nice and light, but the power is immense. I would say its more powerful than 180mm Hope, for sure. Its mostly down the rotor size though. I'd had this Marta for a while now too and its been spot on.

As for the Sky, i'm really liking it. Still need to ride a bit more to get used to it and I still have a couple of things to fit/do to it.

    Rear tyre = pure win!

  7. given the weight of the frame

It weighs about 2kg, so strength shouldn't realistically be a problem on it - it's one of the heavier frames we sell in that particular category on our site.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects, not the frame breaking from repeated use, so any manufacturing defects should become more than apparent within the first 6 months of you owning the frame. A frame cracking from being repeatedly battered into walls and rocks is generally not a manufacturing defect, but as with all of our warranty cases we deal with them on a case by case basis so if you have a problem with any frame you buy from us, we'll try to help you out as much as we can.

  8. Advantages for me are that when I ride a 26", it feels slower and harder to move around. I'm very used to 24" wheels so I'm used to the ease that I can move it around with. I don't find any particular loss in the ability to gap on 24", or any of the other moves I can actually do, lol.

Hmm, all except for this topic was made before that one.

Surly thats down to the geo mostly though? Most stocks have slacker head angles than 24", plus again most stocks have long stems and heavier DH tyres whereas 24" tend to have shorter stems and lighter single ply tyres.

making a 24" like a stock will make it feel like a stock.
