  1. I dont mean tested by having someone riding with them and saying "They havnt snapped they'll be fine", i mean by sticking the steerer in a vice, and puting a measured force on the legs and increasing it till the forks snap. then you know how much force, pressure, strain etc the forks can take exactly, rather than saying, "well they must be ok, none have snapped yet". That way you can be sure that the safety margin between the force your average trials rider puts on them and the force they can actually withstand is clear, or not clear, thus proving your bonded steerer does/doesnt work. So na
  2. I would have thought that before the forks are put into production, they are are tested to see exactly how much pressure they can take at the bond. It wouldnt be hard to do, its done on most products that are made that are put under stress, so why not forks? Its quite worrying that they arent tested though

    Chavs

Argh this programme is really wank, this woman keeps going on about chavs being working class, that they have no money and that people pick on them. Their not working class, they just act like they are. That woman presenter is annoying me too, she just keeps inturrupting the people she interviews, and then starts crying when she doesnt get her way. The day a group of 10 trials riders come up to me and attack me for looking at them is they day i apologise to chavs for hating them, but i dont thik thats ever gonna happen. It gets stupid now how often that i, or my friends get abuse from a chav group. ive had enough of them. *by chav i mean over-cocky youth who will do his/her best to make trouble, not neccessarily someone who dresses like one
  4. What kind of a tosser walks into the road to push someone off of a bike into the path of an oncoming car? if i was you, id take that footage to the police, arse or none, because what he did could have been very nasty. GRRR OLD PEOPLE old people like just pushing their walkig sticks into your spokes when you ride past and stuff, or grabing you when your on the edge of a wall on your backwheel. their more violent than any chav! They must have planned to push you off, because they couldnt have seen your rear end until you passed them, which you didnt, they ran to push you off before you even got there...
  5. I think we should have Boris Johnson appreciation day. All hail Boris! I caught the end of that HIGNFY epsiode, he was hilariously random! Ah good times My Avatar is a plane from the tf avatar library, and i thought that the next stage from trials monkey would be trials cabbage, so there you are. Andy

    Chavs

For all you people fueled on hate, the programme "chavs" is on tonight. Just a friendly reminder from moi
  9. In Ashford, it seems that the police will pick on people who are obviously going to do as they're told, but they wont say anything to someone who might cause a fuss. Me and a mate were told to stop riding our bikes (even though we were riding on a road through town that cars drive down, that has road markings) and then completely ignored a group of young chavs walking past with big bags of booze, shouting and drinking as they went past, which is three offences, underage drinking, drinking in public, and dissorderly conduct. Silly really, but there isnt much the police can do to people who resist them, especially if they are under 18. Law stinks. Andy
  10. A waste of money? Councils money, paid for by us, so why not have them spend it on something we want! Deal's nearby, so Name: Andrew Morgan Address: 31 Springwood Drive, Ashford, Kent, TN23 3LQ Smellyphone: 07742501620
  11. I dont see why the police or anyone for that matter would think that trialsers would go around smashing things up with something that costs £1000+ The only thing to do is be mature about it and allow them to see that you are adults and not mindless teenagers. Other than that, it seems hard to do anything else, because it sounds like you're being picked on by the police. Fortunatly the police and the courts don't get on too well
  12. Thanks a lot guys, when it stops snowing (im a pansy) i'll practice it! Cheers
  13. Hey hey everybody, im starting to get the hang of backwheeling stuff, but using a pedal i am finding it harder to get any higher than can doing a static hop up, about 20" :"> Any suggestions? Cheers

    bike

    From the album: PADS

  16. As someone has already metioned, that is the prototype, if you read on the site, the specs to be released say that the low budget one will have cromo forks and the higher budget one will have 20" smart guys. So why not the light guys?
  17. From an aesthetical point of view, i dont like the idea of smart guy forks on a mod. I wonder how it rides with them compared to the light guys? Why idn't onza use light guys instead of the smart guys?
  18. BLack front hub, blue rear. Sorted :(
  19. Ive just been learning it too, and ive found that the higher you bring the back wheel before you swap, the harder it is. Then, I just let go of both brakes and jump up, pulling the bars up with me, and letting the rear wheel roll underneath until it reaches the balancing point, and on go the brakes again. You shouldnt need a pedal kick in the middle at all. I also found that the trusty old kerb was a good place to practice! Andy
  20. Its fair enough asking, someone might suggest something you havent thought of, that being the whole point of a forum, bein a kind of think tank. Presuming your forks are silver, i think a silver front hub and blue rear will look very nice! Andy EDIT: Also, for a little project for you, it might look quite good drilling smallish holes from the centre of each cnc'd square, with black rim tape underneath. Not too big a hole though, a 15mm hole would be good!

    Bending

    Briwl-yant!!! Cheers guys
  22. You might as well go for it, that other site will have unpatterned reviews, because of the way they are structured. On the example, the travel on the forks was in the "comments box" rather than it being a specific review box for sus forks. i guess to make it work you need to have a specific review layout for every little thing that appears on the chainreactioncycles side menu, that would be a good list to work from. Go for it!
  23. Out of my Etnies and my Vans, i find the vans are much better for riding because the soul isnt so thick, and you can feel what your doing better. Vans for riding all the way! Etnies for style  Cant remember what my vans are called, but theyre similar to Vans Floyd shoes
  24. Even though its a freewheel, it has six pawls, so even if it does skip, it can't feel like any more than the normal engagement on an ACS, so that seems pretty reliable to me
  25. I think the reviews should be moderated then, with only factual reviews being used, for example, "This stem makes the bike feel higher and longer" and not "this stem makes the bike feel crap"
