After quite a time of not having a trials bike the bug bit me and i decided to start up again A HUGE thanks to Andy from NBR bikes and Dave Biddle for helping me so much with some of the parts, both were very kind and donated parts they didn't need anymore which was very generous of them Thanks again you guys! sad news, such a very unexpected way for somebody to go. Condolences to his family and friends
-
thats what i figured, i shall give it a spray cos it really isn't very confidence inspiring! why do you think they are so bad? it seems well built from what ive seen so far
-
its mine now and i freaking loves it
-
mega noobz question that is relevant here i guess: my tryall skips like f**k, its new so im guessing its bedding in? is that normal for them? should i do the the good old wd40 flush to get rid of the crappy grease?
-
the older ones aren't, unfortunately most of us quit (although i'm starting up again, as are a few others) i think most trials riders are tards, theres only a limited few i actually like bring back the good times

The Garage/shed (bike Work Area) Thread
CurtisRider replied to Danny Swindlehurst's topic in Chit Chat
This is one of half of mine from last year, other half has more workbench space and a dirty big lathe, park wheel trueing stand, topeak pro race repair stand and far far far more tools....got another work area in another building which i share with my dad which has all the bigger stuff like a compressor, arc and mig welders, bandsaw, etc. I quite like my messy retreat -
i love those forks, what are they made up from? all the same year jnr ts?

Those Old Onza Freewheel Adaptors For 3 Piece Cranks...
CurtisRider replied to CurtisRider's topic in Trials Chat
well i have a try all freewheel you see, but im on the scout for a revolver hub for the back just thought id have a go seeing as i have way too much spare time in the evenings if you do find it i would be well after it -
my boss said it was pronounced 'swabble', as thats how the guy from bohler says it...however that sounds stupid
-
Has anybody got any information on the ffw adaptors made for 3 piece cranks? onza fitted them to the t mag years ago and i fancy having a go at making something similar as i have some spare 3 pieces and not enough money for new cranks yet . Some photos would be dead handy if anybody has any
-
haha adrian you pleb i have some other tuf guys and some knifens in the shed if you are interested?
-
thats more like it im not complaining at the advice given before it just didn't really answer my queries! as for the spec, i already have replacement parts for the sucky bits as mentioned before i would like more info on the frame, just seeing as it seems to have a few better features than the base like the horizontal dropouts and +5mm bb. also i didn't really have very high spec bikes before, just standard stuff really i know i had it in my watched items, fooking ridiculous when there is a t raptor frame and forks making 50quid right now odd... well it had a 90mm which is my stem of preference as its just short enough for x ups, anything longer is horrid! there are brand new bases on ebay for 80posted so i may get a new frame and buy the rest of the parts i need secondhand rather than buying the newbuild. I shall keep my eyes peeled, no huge rush yet thanks to those who have replied so far

i'm surprised nobody actually can help maybe i should type like a spastic

it has a front disc not dual maggys? admittedly that zebber does look a bargain, however i found the zebdi cramped? its a tad shorter than the base i think and the components are all wrong for me, brakes, bars and crank would all have to go. Rear rim is too wide for a v brake on that frame too i have bar, stem, cranks, pads, tyres and a rear hub all to go on the onza if i got it thanks for your help though! EDIT: Spec changes would be (already got them): spray paint Pashley forks crv rear pads, and rockpads front. Ground rims deore/sd7 arms and levers (pretty sure i have the levers) azonic dw 2.5 bars and a 90x15degree stem 10mm axle sealed bearing rear bmx hub if its 116mm spacing dmr moto digger tyres tryall freewheel carbon/ti seat with a homemade seatpost to fit possibly some premium lite cranks with the old style bash if they are lighter than the standard ones so it really wont be that bad!

Thanks for the suggestion but i have done/ am doing that. The trouble is everybody is selling nasty long bikes with nasty maguras and things i don't want i quite like the idea of a new bike as i know how its been treated! Aside from the brakes and freewheel, i have all the upgrades i need for this onza sitting in my shed! EDIT: and that monty is nice thanks but again, components are more than likely aged and most aren't to my choice i am very insistant on having v brakes and anything with 4 bolt mounts means i will need adaptors-thus increasing the seemingly cheap price of it

Right i have been out of the trials scene for a while now and i miss hopping around so i am looking to invest in a new bike within the next monh. I have been looking at the onza spyo gyra as it fits the bill perfectly for what i would want apart from a few select components changes such as better cranks, tyres and some riser bars. The geo on tarty bikes says it is to be confirmed, so i'm assuming it is roughly right: Wheelbase: 1040mm Chainstay Length: 390mm BB Rise: 5mm Head Angle: 73 degrees would this be much dissimilar to the base ta26? Wheelbase: 1025mm Chainstay Length: 385mm BB Drop: 5mm Centre of BB shell to top centre of head tube: 685mm (27") Frame size: 9.25" (centre to centre) I seem to remember my base being a 1040...but i know its the reach that makes the difference more than wheelbase. The only differences seem to be positive ones, for example the bb rise and a touch extra length. I loved my old base so anything similar/better would be awesome I'm a spinny rider and like a flicky bike. The next thing is the brakes. I love v brakes, i bum them big style but have never used the onza ones. Are they worth using or should i order a set of deores/sd7s as a budget replacement? I cant justify the cost of ultimates again, however much i liked them. The same question goes for the levers, are these particularly nasty affairs or will they be ok? Wheels. What hubs are they? They appear to be bolted ones suggesting they are are the ones specced on the budget mods. Does this mean it has a 116 rear end? Are they 36h? What freewheel comes with it? presumably a dicta Does anybody know a rough weight for it? I can imagine the forks are a bit hefty! I cant think of any more questions really, i don't really want people to bother replying with 'its shit m8' unless its a justified answer. I'm not a harsh basher and it won't get used much, hence not spending a great deal.

through the arm? as in the bush? i think on sd7s you also can prise off a washer to undo the gubbins
-
i used deore ones, just press the washer off the top of the assembly and it will be obvious when its in pieces if my memory serve me right you could also rape your sd3 arms for parts
-
sorry to hear that but its a fitting song, i definately want that played at my funeral dreaming of you! how could i forget that! first girl i ever really liked played it to me and it reminds how happy i was when she first smiled at me, beauty

jimmy eat world-hear you me my friend died of a brain tumor and i think of him when i hear it, awesome guy blink 182-dammit reminds me of year 9, when i thought everything was getting shit...but it all worked out and turned out to be one of my best ever school years and finally, sigur ros-hoppipola it became mine and my now ex girlfriends song, i sent it to her way before we started going out and its kinda stuck with us
