Right, some of you may of noticed these pads on ebay: Trials pads I thought i would give some a try and it turns out, they perform exactly the same as the plazmatic ones They are seemingly generic pads, and stupidly cheap! I am running them front and rear on my pashley. Both brakes hold really well, the front brake has so much bite its nuts-way better than any bb7 ive owned/used although that makes it a bit horrible for stoppies At the rear they have tons of modulation and the hold is crazy, even my 18stone friend didnt make it slip! They are a little squeaky but i think that is because they need to settle in, i dont run a grind so it will take a while i guess. Get some now

Save your money aside for if you break anything, seeing as you have only just started its not really wise to invest in good parts yet! Break the old ones then its time to upgrade To save weight you need to replace the steel forks, stem and bars for alloy ones really. As well as saving weight it will also drastically improve the handling of the bike. Nice bike though, i had 2 and they were coooool!

I genuinely prefer 26, i have owned and ridden various 24s, but there is something that feels wrong about them for me! Still fun though... I'm up for a big ride, as long as its not silly far away -

In an ideal world that would happen, but im skint the panaracer is 7 years old now and has lots of slits in it, rarely gets punctures! -

Yeah i did try telling him about the forks...but he went and fitted my gusset jurys-not exactly pretty least they are strong! He is just about to fit a front disc, so he will have 1 decent brake It's not Georges, its Fadams! George was supposed to be building up the zebber but he hasnt bothered. Hopefully be out occasionally, its kinda hard funding riding at college, all my money goes to fuel -
Mate just bought a curtis off here after not riding trials for quite a while, mines pretty much unchanged except for homemade 4 bolt adaptors, booster, pashely forks and a hose clamp because my threads tore out on the shitty 4 bolt things! Both weigh 26lbs, and the best bit is both cost a smidge over 200quid sweet as fook! Basic specs are: Pashley frame and forks, premium 3 piece cranks, revolver on d521 rear, try all freewheel, onza front wheel, prodigy stem, kore bars, deore vs and xt levers Curtis frame, p2 forks, maguras, middleburns, hope xc hubs on f519 rims, echo stem and easton ea50 bars. Dont worry, he is ditching the toy brakes and running v brakes when he can afford to Also making a seat clamp so he can run a seat. I'm probably going to weld some v brake mount on my ghz and some reverse mounts on my forks when i get time also got a dmr 1 piece bash that i need to fit at some point...just needs machining Seat? just need to alter the clamp a little more so it can sit really far down, then spray the clamp black

Im not sure how you are getting such poor results with a linear cable guys, all of mine have been silly light, feels like im running something lighter than a water bleed to put it in comparison. The brake feel is noticeably stiffer too i find, just seems rather odd yuu have poor results? I have been running them for about 5 years now on various bikes with no troubles!
-
Odyssey linear slicks are my choice, pretty much any linear bmx cable will do, all generic stuff! Some people rate clarks cables but i found them to be a bit rough after a while. Nokons are ok, i am running one atm, but they are pricey and not justified over the price of a regular linear cable.

apparently so dude, worth a shot either way really?
-
Mine does that and wont let me reconnect, apparently its because when you uninstall things, it removes files that windows needs...put in a windows cd, let it repair and it should work (i'm waiting for my xp cd to come back to me so i can try) Only if you dont use it, 3 are absolute wankers, i am never going back with them again because i like not getting raped
-
In that case, small normal mod, and a shorter lower rise stem for now? Least he can master the basics and move onto a proper stem when he is big enough Thing is, trials isn't cool, tell him to get a bmx otherwise he will end up like us....
-
i still dont know what a front wheel is for....bunnyhops and spins=happy paul
-
With my try all it skipped really badly all the time initially, a quick spray of wd40 into the freewheel to thin down the grease a bit solved it Its a bloody good freewheel, i have no complaints about it. Also agree with the mud thing, seemed to work for my brake! just dont use contaminated mud
