  1. Possibly - but these new pads aren't anything to do with the 'Plazmatic' name as we have known it for the last few years. Chris Russ, the original Plazmatic manufacturer is providing the pad material but TNN Engineering are making the backings. The original Plazmatic backings had a totally different design to this, which meant that the flat sections against which the Magura slave 'pins' sat were cut away, making the pads rock too much under braking and snapping the plastic location clip on the Magura cylinders. These TNN backings are perfectly square and a little larger than other CNC backings to ensure less wobble.
  2. He's testing them We should have them soon.
  3. Thomas Oehler? I couldn't find a real pic of Muel, but here he is as a 10 year old schoolgirl Sorry man!
  4. Touche, hehe... I think it means 'massive', 'really hard' instead of really bad
  5. Probably... but the work is 90% completed now.
  6. Further news... it's a big job lol It's been a pig to get the spares as the belt wasn't due til 150k so that's delayed things a lot... Was meant to be ready end of last week but they couldn't get the timing pins in as what they had in front of them wasn't the same as what was in the instructions! Turns out the cams on the camshaft have rotated (it's a 'new type' where the cams are pressed onto the shaft, not a one-piece cast one) so it needs a new camshaft @ £250. Add that to the other parts and that comes to £650... plus labour... which the garage say they will do a little cheaper as my car has been a bit of a guinea pig. So we'll see how we get on...
  7. Stan Shaw will ride for Koxx/K-124 for the 2009 season. He's currently awaiting delivery of a Purple Sky frame which he will build into a superlight competition machine as usual! http://k-124.co.uk/rider.php?rider_id=13 Adam
  8. Hi guys, Some snaps of new Hydroxx 26" and Nanoboxx bikes: And the dual disc brake model: Weight of the Louise/HS33 model is 10.34kg including pedals... not sure where the 10.7kg figure came from previously! Cheers Adam
  9. One deposit placed so far, only 9 to go! Thanks guys.

  11. It's now 9.36kg with Conti tyres, could shed another 150g with lighter rear rim and different rotors... Discs are a fair bit heavier yeah, with my current setup they are probably 500g a bike more than a pair of HS33s with light brake clamps!!
  12. Haha, depends how you ride mate... I think I would get away with a 2.4 Mountain King on the rear with a little more pressure, but if you rim out a lot then probably not. The sidewalls are pretty thin to keep the weight down. The fronts are great though!
  13. Weird, we weighed a few of the 2.2 Supersonics and the heaviest was 478g. The 2.4 Mountain King is a little larger than a 2.35" Maxxis (142mm carcass as opposed to 135mm). As said above by Forteh here are a few different compounds, the Black Chilli ones are much more expensive. I stuck the tyres up at RRP initially, but have now checked other stores and brought our prices down a little to compete more closely. Randomly discounting items is something I'm very much against, but I think it's important to compete with other shops too.
  14. Thursday to Sunday, and it's March No problem at all to remove the competition entry, that would drop the price by £15 - so the total price would be approximately £170 for 15 people or £235 for 10 (or another amount in between if, say, 12 people confirmed). To give people an idea of time frames, we would need to get chunnel and minibus booked at the absolute latest by Friday 6th March and dorms by the end of Feb, which would mean confirmed 'bookings' for this trip with £50 deposit will need to be completed before Friday 20th February. If you pay a deposit and the trip runs but you pull out we won't be able to refund the deposit, sorry - but if there are insufficient participants on 20th Feb then it will of course be refunded. We need at least 10 completed bookings by this date to make the trip viable, if more people confirm (up to a max of 15) then the price goes down. Hopefully if you do decide to go for this offer but then we find out there aren't enough people to run it, then that still leaves over a month for you to make other arrangements? We're adding a deposit item to the TartyBikes site now on which we can update news of completed bookings etc to let people know the likelihood of the trip being run. Cheers! Adam
  15. Haha, just packed Stan off with your bits mate, he'll be there for Stan11 o'clock which will probably be about half past Will try and get there too but won't promise anything...
  16. It's no problem to change the bearings there, in fact it may still be under warranty? They are small but this ensures there is enough space for a large diameter axle. I think there are at least 2 in that position which makes up for the bearings being smaller than usual.
  17. If you need to get in touch just give me a call at Tarty or send an email, please don't leave a comment. Cheers

  18. Awesome stuff Sam! Really great style too, flowing and effortless, just what we like See you soon mate!
  19. I believe so, but see below: Just the colour pigment, but it does appear to make a little difference to performance as shown across the Koxx Bloxx range.
  20. Because the Crocos are the evolution of them (ie. better).
  21. Right, everything is on the way to being sorted but it seems like it will be a pricey job... I've just been down to the garage to have a look: The bearing on one of the cam belt pulleys shat itself which popped the cam belt off. The rockers were destroyed (literally all in bits) and the valves bent, they had a go at re-grinding them but they were too bent for that. Luckily the block and head are ok but it will of course need a skim, new gaskets etc. and new cam belt kit. So it seems the garage were being straight with me which is good, I have used them a few times before with no problems. I'm just a bit gutted it went 40k miles before it was due... I do remember hearing a few squealing type noises at low revs while pulling away in first gear, I guess that was the sign and it's truly lesson learned now!
  22. That has been investigated thoroughly but there remains a major problem - venue! Any ideas welcome You don't even have to pay entry to play on the rocks In fact, would it be better if the competition entry cost wasn't included in the overall cost? It's no problem to remove the entry but it is cheaper in the 'deal' as we have a discount available for multiple bookings (same on the dorms) which makes the overall cost better.
  23. Tut tut, can't get the staff nowadays! Cheers Rich.
  24. It kinda depends on a few things - mainly the colour of the pads. Rock Pads n Blue are great on a grind, as are Try-All Croco Browns. V!Z Yellows will wear out really quickly. Koxx Browns are now discontinued but the Croco Pads are an evolution of them and we have found them to be slightly better. Cheers Adam
