  1. Last i read it was between 80-90% of people who are stabbed are stabbed with their own knives. Your jus giving them an opportunity to take it off you and stab you with it when they might not have had one themselves before.

You could more than likely quite easily get away with killing one of them. They randomly attacked you with no intention other than to physically harm you and had already seriously assualted your friend. I don't think there would be anyone who'd doubt that you were genuinely fearfull for your lives and felt you had to defend yourselves. As far as i'm aware your allowed to defend yourself "within reason", so if they'd stabbed one of your friends in the head, getting in the car and running a couple over would be fine.

yeah, but by the law, it has to be in 'self-defence' and not retaliation (after you've had the chance to run away). so if you push them over, then kick shit out of em while they're on the floor, you're outside of reasonable force, though i'm assured most police officers are very lenient regarding these situations :). and reasonable force is the whole, you can only use a weapon equal or lesser to that of your attacker. but when chavs give you grief, you can't know these days whether they're gonna pull a knife or a gun or what these days. personally, i'd go for breaking an arm or leg before they had the chance to pull any weapons. and if i floored one with a knife in their hand, i'd definitely make sure they weren't getting back up in a hurry. quick stamp on the knee cap, and a kick to the head, like

oh, and if the police don't catch the guys who had my mate, I'm assured by many people, the will be hunted down and get the full force of PROPER justice

  2. Make them walk round town/city naked on a cold day. The we'll see if they still do it.

but then you'll just get revenge attacks and such. no, killing them IS the only way to stop them doing anything again. FACT

  3. the annoying thing is, a vast majority of the chavs are juveniles in the laws eyes, and I can't see that they can ever get punished properly. and now that ASBO's are considered prizes for the cool ones amongst them, I don't see how the 'law' is ever gonna cure the disease that is chav. my mums work colleague and her boyfriend had both their cars written off along with another 4 in their road by joyriders crashing into them. the car ended up on its roof and 3 lads who looked about 14 got out. her bf chased em down the street, but the just turned round and told him to f**k off or they'd stab him, and sauntered away

my solution, is that every chav that commits a crime should be killed. no questions asked. any lesser punishment is just seen as an 'achievement' to their type. and that isn't some angry threat, it is the only way i see to stop them. they cull badgers and deer when they are ruining the countryside. chavs are ruining the lives of just about everyone in the country. chavnic cleansing ***

and any suggestions on preventing them from breeding is bollocks because they all have babies as soon as the grow a pube anyway. infact, one of the gang that attacked us was a 15 year old girl with a 4 month old baby over her shoulder, and a can of special brew in the other hand. what the hell would that kid be like when it grew up?! luckily the police caught up with her and took the baby from her. when they interviewed her, she basically told them to f*ck off, and so they still haven't got any of the attackers (as far as i'm aware)

they make me mad. makes wanna just smash every chav i see round the head. but of course, the police would be straight on my case if i did

was that in stoke or oxford??? :|

preston, which is pretty rough, but you still don't expect to get stabbed at 8.30pm after going for a chinese!!!

  4. argh, not another one! me and friends were out for a meal the other day, and when we went back to the car park, a group of chavs started throwing stones at my mums car (which i had borrowed) and attacked us when we tried to call the police! NONE OF US fought back and tried backing away, but one of the little pikey bastards stabbed my mate in the face while he was shielding his girlfriend rom them. the little shit didn't even confront him. just walked straight up to the side of him, and shoved a knife through his cheek and into his nose. who the hell are these psychos and what motivates them? its not even like they achieve anything. they never tried to mug us or take the car. just throw some stones at us, then stab someone in the head and walk away!?

reckon you could get away with 'accidentally' killing them in self-defence? i wouldn't stop beating them until they couldn't get up personally

  5. I'm currently running a SunRace BMX chain on my dirt/street Revell, as it came HIGHLY recommended by a certain couple of sponsored riders i know, and now me and a couple of BMX mates are running them. They stretch like a beast on the first ride! but I'm assured they are hard as nails, and have resisted much abuse on various peoples bikes. One even flattened a chainring screwing up a pedal grind attempt, and yet the chain remained fine?!

I ran a Kool chain on my last trials rig, and bouygt a 3/32" kool for my Giant build, though I have seen em snap. KMC also do a mega fat gold BMX chain too. weighs a metric tonne, but Alans assured my cousin they are stronger than standard kools. but I do mean VERY heavy!

  6. ...you can make out the definition of the boobies of every girl that comes in our bike shop (like today (Y))

a fine young lady was in about 11.30am, and i swear i could SEE her nipples through her top! what a day...

...when you can sit in the beer garden at the pub until they come and kick you out (again, like today (Y))

I love summer. just another 4-5 weeks, and uni will be no bother either. In the meantime, I gotta get some sleeps so I can wake up at a reasonable hour to do maths for a front suspension design. Bloody degrees...

  7. Never heard of the warranty one, anyone wanna explain?

    Tf tapemeasure for anyone that doesn't know about it;

    tftapemeasurexu5.jpg

whats all this '1ft, 2ft, 3ft...' nonsense? anyone old enough will remember the original t-f tape measure was in units of blue pallets! though it may have been upgraded to 'proper' house bricks sometime around 2003?

  8. i swar the guy is an alien, from the planet 'Ride-over-Anything'

nice vid. music was questionable, but i guess thats down to the viewers discretion. some good angles though, so you can see a lot of the things he is approaching, rather than just whats under his rear wheel! gives a good perspective of how tough some of the sections are

  9. Buy the frame brand new? How much was it?

no, not brand new. was a bloody eBay bargain though :) I believe the frames are £299 new, might have changed the name of the 26 in model now though (i know the 24in was the 250R and is now a 300S)

Pretty nice looking bike you have there. Out of intrest, how come you went for these forks rarther than DJ's?

Rock Shox are looking like THE forks this year, especially now they have released the new freeride, all mountain, and dirt/street forks to combat Marzocchi being pretty much the only company offering a good range in these areas. And Rock Shox technology is quite a bit ahead, and they still keep the weight lower in all price ranges. As far as I'm aware, the Argyle's are a fair bit lighter than the DJs. Also, there have been a few DJs appearing with cracked lowers, mainly around the arch. Either way, I rode a set of Argyles on a mate's bike, and the felt exactly like what I wanted, so went for a set. I think the 318s are the ones to have. The 409s have more features than I'd need, and I don't like the idea of faffing with air leaks EVER. they also use a magnesium alloy crown and alu steerer, and I prefer the peace of mind of the burly alu crown and steel steerer on the 318s. The 302s are a bit basic, but still very good and the weight is pretty impressive, considering how heavy the base model DJs are.

I'd be pretty wary if you look at CRC for the Argyles. The fact the white 409s are £289.99 and the mint ones are £329.99 screams 'dodgy' at me. Dunno if they've been robbed during a bike split or something, though I have been told it's cheaper to convert 318s to air than buying 409s. Also, I think you can only get 318s in white, and the 409s in mint, so something sounds fishy to me, and I'd give them a good grilling about the complete spec of the forks before purchasing. PROPER 318s *** IMO LOL

  10. jamiroqui - there's only ever been one song and it was bad

oi!!! take that back! it's all good for doing the Sunday house cleaning! dancing with ma hoover.... i'll shut up now....

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyways...

Kaiser Chiefs - 'I predict a shite song, I predict a shite song'

    Franz Ferdinand - hateful

The Libertines - or basically whatever band Pete Docherty is in

Basically any of these 1970's wanna be rock god pen-arses

AND NOT FORGETTIN>>> Keane - oh dear Lord, those whiny little bastards

Trivium, Atreyu, Emo-Screamo, shouty thrashy pointless garbage because you can't hear any music or lyrics. I'm pretty sure the definition of noise is 'unwanted sound'. fits the bill quite nicely

and Lost Prophets, because they started out SO well, and now what the hell's happened to em!?

and last but not least, if I was granted the oppurtunity to kill one person in the world and not be punished for it, it would most certainly be....

  11. Or give BETD/Goltec a ring. They might have a few of there's left. I'm running one on the back of my Giant Team trials with a HS33 as the frame uses v-brake bosses, not 4 bolt mounts. It's fantastically stiff, as the back end of these flexes like a b*****d as standard!

Give them a ring and see if they have any left. The one thing you will need to check is the gap between your brake bosses, as the boosters use holes instead of slots. Mine measures out at 85mm, but it'd be worth giving them a tinkle as i think they did some different sizes. And as it's BETD stuff, the finish and quality is excellent. If there's one available for you're setup, it get's a big (Y) from me, and I urge you to get one!

  12. Bicycle trials, comes from completing 'trials' (tests) on bicycles. It started at xc and dh comps with riders tryin to tackle balance beams and logs and such. So by definition, the best trials rider is one who can best tackle whatever objects are placed in front of them, whether that be man made or natural. And by that token, it has to be the riders at the top of the comp circuit. Sure there are loads of mega riders who do don't ride comps, but its hard to define who these people are until they are pitted against the best comp riders.

I know we aren't naming names, but I'd love to see the likes of Tunni up against Gilles Coustellier. I've seen Neil sidehopping stuff that Dave Butler was creaming over Gilles touch hopping weeks before. But then I also rode street in Hanley with Gilles and Danny Butler, and I swear Gilles could ride a straight line from one corner of the city to the other! There was virtually nothing the guy couldn't tackle! As an experienced comp rider, he was able to find the smallest thing to get the grip he needed, and usual hit them first time.

Again, by definition, the best trials rider, is the one who is best at trials

In essence we are all just bicycle riders until we compete in a 'trial'

  13. If you're going for skate style trainers, pick up some Vans with the waffle sole. The Old Skools are a bit to thin, and hurt my feet when i'm riding. I'm riding TNTs at the moment, but craving for an old pair of Vans Knu Skools!!! By far the best riding trainers I've ever used. Went through three pairs of the buggers riding DH, dirt, street, and trials, with each pair lasting about 2-3 years of ridng almost everyday when i was at high school and college

  14. How many riders ride 18T front sprockets as opposed to 22/16T?

Had middleburns, they were extremely heavy and only took a 22T chainring. Can't see a company justifying a 250g bashing when I've had a Tensile one that weighs probably no more than 60g for well over a year and it's still perfect. Who needs the extra durability? Not practical at all.

Now that HS has introduced a 18T bash and chainring for MB cranks, they might become more popular.

Super Pro Trials 16t bash/sprocket has been out for a while now?

  15. Parcels2Go did me a whole bike to Amsterdam for £30. am guessing a frame would be a bit less. also take it packaged to the Post Office and get a quote. Recorded and insured of course! also make sure its well packed with plenty of bubblewrap. International parcels get a fair beating in my experience! even with couriers
