  1. I imagine you will need something around a 54cm. Specialized do a guide here which states you need either a 52cm or a 54cm When you are in the middle of sizes like that its all due to preference and how you want to be positioned on the bike. Best thing is probably to pop into a bike shop that sells complete fixies (charge, mongoose, fuji, specailized) and try having a sit on them and see how it feels. Bike sizing guide
  2. Hey, Yeah I have looked at Titanium and PhoneGap, just working out which one is best and what features to included and they wouldn't allow me to have a login. Well not using the current login I have as it used php and mysql, correct me if I am wrong I know more about PhoneGap than Titanium. Yeah it is going to start to open up soon to Europe and then wider. As I had to rush this for uni deadline I am now making all the changes I wish I had time for then. So i am hoping to get a lot nicer experience finished by spring, I know its annoying all the thing people want aren't in there yet but hopefully people realise this is one man coding in his spare time after a full day of coding at work. Thanks
  3. Hi Matt, Thanks for bringing this up. My original concept was to make make these editable at later dates. So it didn't become too much a wiki with people editing left right and center or didn't give certain people control over spots, This was to try and stop people setting up spots which are owned by other people (skate parks mainly) and then the user deciding they didn't like this spot anymore and then abusing their control. I am now after seeing how people interact with the site thinking of changing this concept and giving the person who made the spot control over certain areas of the spot. I am not too sure what areas yet, but my original hope was that the feedback wall would be the perfect place for this sort of information. If a spot is no longer there or has changed then you can write this on the feedback wall, this then allows users who may not be local but have heard of a spot to see, ohh ok that no longer exists. I know for myself I have been on trips before and got near a location only to ask a local where it as and they have told me its been knocked down or changed in some way. So this seemed a good way of stoping people form just deleted spots and removing vital and useful info. Sorry, I find it hard to explain my logic behind why and how i am doing stuff, but I hope this makes sense. The end of the day there was a aspect of experimentation behind the project into user experience and learning first hand how your users interact and adapting over time to provide a better experience. (similar to fb do with constant changes.) Thanks Glynn
  4. Nice one Ben, thanks for the help and kind words. Yeah im working too...
  5. Email received. Watch this space (Need to learn to spell and not type in a rush)
  6. Hi Guys, Sorry for the late reply, I have been super busy with work and other commitments. I will read into the options above and get back to you Revolver. Yeah the site has only been optimised for Iphone currently. Its in work right now for androids, and other phones which support media queries. You can see here in the media queries table if your phone / browser is supported. (This work may take a little while with all the commitments I have right now). On other news last night I / Ridden.it was shortlisted for a British Interactive Media Association Award in the student category. This is obviously great news for myself and the site, it has also given me the kick up the backside needed to make sure I make time each week to make the up dates needed to turn this site into a real asset to the community. Sorry for the slow up-date stick with me and hopefully with your feedback and me having no life we can make something which benefits everyone. BIMA AWARDS Thanks Glynn
  7. Meh, which ever it was he was bloody good in one industry whether that is product design or marketing and business. He (or Apple) have had a massive effect on my industry a long with many others you cant argue or knock that. I dont argue his ethics might have been out of order. But we can only go on what the media tell us and how much of that can put money on being 100% truthful
  8. Massive and controlled riding, nothing less than we have come to expect from you. Am I the only one though who despite the cheers thinks 1:16 doesn't count? Back wheel bounced off the floor Non the less its still huge.

Sorry I need to now close this topic. Thanks
  10. Hey Joel Sorry only just seen this, really busy moving to London for new job. I got 74 (1st) for the project and 67.5 (2:1) overall. Pretty happy with that, Did I speak to you? Dont remember speaking to anyone who knew why my bike had no seat (mind you it was all a blur the amount of people i spoke to and rattled on). My uni have also put me and this project forward for a british interactive media association award in the student category under effectiveness as they feel it will benefit the riding community. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if people can sign up and add spots and comment on other peoples that would help me massively. This will mean the world to me if I am lucky enough to be shortlisted. SO PLEASE HELP ME OUT Thanks Glynn
  11. Maybe I am immature but this is the most amusing thing I have seen on a newspapers website in a long time. A gallery of divers faces caught in action shots from the world championships. Much better than riding faces. Silly faces here
  12. WOW. You have got some serious talent there James. Only improving as you get older with more strength
  13. From the feedback I received before building the beta was the same as Adam. Although I didn't ask as many people as I would have liked. The point in the search feature is to do that exact same thing as you want to do Revolver. So you could search Nottingham and then you just have to drag the marker to the amphitheatre. I dont see how this is any different to having to zoom into Nottingham and then find the amphitheatre and then click and add marker. I do understand where you are coming from though so I will try it but I have a feeling more people will prefer the current way.
  14. Pretty cool, but just lacked something I think he just seemed out of place for a trials bike. Nike 6.0 are really pushing the bmx world its awesome. I went to the grand opening competition of the Nike 6.0 Pool the other day in Dagenham. It was one of the coolest parks, venues I have ever seen. Watching world class riders shred it as well was out of this world, if you haven't seen it you should check out some of these links. The Pool FB Defgrip Gallery of The Pool
  15. Thanks Revolver. What browser are you using? This is why i am a bit gutted I didn't have enough time for user testing because it would have picked up all these bugs. THanks for your help. Also I dont personally think adding a spot is that much of a faff. I did do some user research into the easiest way to add it and most people said they prefer being able to search for the city or place as if its not a big place just click on the map isn't easy to find the place. Maybe I could do both ways, What do people think? Thanks Glynn
  16. Cheers Joe. It doesnt seem to do that in Chrome on a Mac but there are a few other issues anyway. Once I am allowed to edit the site I will get that fixed for you
  17. Hey Joe cheers for that. Any chance you can get a screen shoot of that? Would really help me to diagnose the issue. Hope all is good with you.
  18. Thanks Revolver, Yeah, that is my fault it was meant to go but it must have got misse don the upload and the rush, which is a shame because its such an easy feature. As soon as I get the go ahead things like this will be sorted, all part of a testing period I guess
  19. Thanks for that. Did you go back and then forward or anything like that or did you get to this page in the standard way of just being through each step? I did used to get this error but I fixed it so would be helpful to know how you go to this. Thanks for your help and input. JD I do want to add in a section which tells you who added the spot and in all honesty its just something which I forgot about in the rush to hand in. Once I am allowed to edit the site again I will be adding this feature in
  20. Thanks, I am glad people are liking it. I did think about it at the start but thought for now to just keep normal markers until It becomes cluttered and then figure out a way of using it but keeping the the riding styles separate and being able to wittle it down so you can see single points. Seriously considering it. Thanks Glynn
  21. Ridden.it is now online at the address: www.ridden.it The site is in beta mode for the next month in order for me to collect feedback on what could improve the experience. After this period I will make any upgrades for the next release. I hope you all carry on enjoy the site and I can improve the site for you ready for the summer in June. Please keep the feedback coming so I can work out what users want to see form the site. EDIT Just ignore anything add by Mik Parsons and James Jordan. They are my lecturers just marking it. Hopefully I can delete their input soon Thanks for all your help.
  22. Thats awesome, any feedback you have about the iPad use would be greatly appreciated. As of now I have only tested it quickly on my mates iPad but will be doing more intensive testing over the next couple of days so let me know if you find anything you think could be improved.
  23. Been watching you like a stalker as you have been adding this morning Glad you like it, for now the mobile devices are only iPhone,, Ipod touch and iPad. I have plans to extend this to android and other smart phones at a later date, if you dont have an iPhone. Glad you like the site its great to hear such positive feedback at such an early stage of the site only being in beta mode. Many Thanks to everyone, keep plotting
  24. Nice one Liam. They are just better browsers in so many ways the list is endless. I have tested on a few versions of iE and the has been fine, do you know what version of IE it is you should be able to find out by going to help and then to about. (I think thats how you do it). Like I said I will look at it on my laptop tomorrow as well see if I get any issues. Glad you are enjoying the site and your new browser. The tor that you live next to looks awesome, Cant believe I lived about 15 mins away all my life until now and never visited it. But I guess Bodmin Moor is soo big that I never had a need as minions is very similar. Cheers
  25. I will look at how you do it in IE later when I am using a windows machine. You could also try using a better browser, IE sucks, try Google Chrome or a Firefox. Saying that I still need to look into why its not working, I havn't fully tested in IE yet. Cheers
