Whats The Thing To Learn To Trials
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com replied to M-a-d Bennett's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
B)--> QUOTE(R*B @ Oct 28 2005, 11:39 PM) ← Know the feeling entirely... But in that case you're talking about just having the balls to try something, useful on a drop, but not so much when you're trying out skills with less dangerous outcomes. In answer to aNT's question, a trackstand is one of the staple trials manouvres where you balance on the spot with little or no movement (lock the front or both brakes, release slightly if you lose balance). You keep your balance by shifting your body weight and turning the bars. Never read this in any of the technique guides on websites, but personally I find that by far the best way to learn to trackstand is on soft dirt, preferably on a slight downwards slope. This means you can dig a little trench in the dirt to help support you while you're learning. Once a trench gets deep and you can balance in it, get out of the trench and start a new one. A little while doing this and you'll be able to do near indefinite trackstands on all surfaces - will come in very handy as you progress. Hope that helped someone (Y) VERY nicly said!! This post that R*B has made, would be very useful to all you new members, look into the detail he has used, good use of language and good punctuation (Y) If you keep this up R*B you will be validated in notime and will be able to use the rest of the forum (Y) -

you can buy the MDF shelf already made to fit, but the bad part is that they cost £80 to buy (Y) But one good thing about them, is, they are fairly heavy, so they dont vibrate about so makes the sound quality batter. You can make it yourself, just get your olf parcel shelf and draw the sahp of it onto a MDF sheet, then cut it out using a jig saw, then cut the speaker holes out. Another good thing about making your own parcel shelf, is, you can design it yourself, make it so you put your speakers on the under part of the shelf, so that your speakers are still facing upwards, but screwed onto the bottom of the shelf, then on top of the shelf, cover the whole shelf with some nice looking material, so it looks like you havnt got your 6x9's in, but you really have :D Thats how we made ours anyways B)

But if you look at them pads, you will notice, the pads that cost the most (koxx browns, plaz) have worn down flat, and the home made jobbies (heatsink, rimjam) have worn down at a very big angle! cause the rimjams were loose in the calipers, or they fell out the backings lol. and the kool stops have loads of meatleft, because i dont use em haha. Iv made my job today to araldite some of them together, to see if i can make a good pad with em :ermm: B) lol Iv glued the plaz pad onto a powerpad backing already. just sitting in the vice waiting to set hard lol
