  1. you are good, but please take some air out of your tyres!!! - you'd seem smoother then. plus you might end up like me with a screwed elbow problem which will never go away.

I give this guy maximum respect for what he does; constantly pushing himself like that. But it really is just a matter of time until he has an accident and at those speeds and those heights it's going to hurt big time. Especially without a helmet. If he can still ride after that he'll probably tone it down ALOT. That said, it was a good video and he is a v.good rider! If you saw him do some of that stuff whilst you were out trialsing in town you'd go, "Woooooooaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh, duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude".
  3. Thanks for all the reply's. It's hard to feel exactly where the pain is coming from. As I type this, it's a dull ache with interspersed shooting pains - fun! If it is tennis elbow do I just have to rest then? If I rest I can't ride so I am thinking about just riding, and putting up with the pain - the pain only comes when I'm not warmed up. Do any of you reckon I migh submit myself to long term damage? What would a cortisone shot do?
  4. OK, so basically half way through the summer of 2006 I started to get a shooting pain in my left elbow. It would hurt as soon as I got on to my bike, then eased as I warmed up and then got worse after riding, once I had cooled down. Basically its a pain I get from putting my elbow under load. It doesn't hurt too much whilst under load (apart from the odd shooting pain), but then aches alot after use. I still managed to ride a couple more months like that for summer 2006. I stopped riding at the end of summer 2006 and started again in summer 2007. Sure enough after about a months regular riding the pain came back. I rode the whole summer like it. I didn't ride for winter 2007 but during that winter, occasionally I would get a shooting pain or if I flexed my left arm, or lifted something. Then it kind of went. Low and behold the weather is turning nice this year and i wanted to ride this summer too. I went out last week. Rode twice, and now the pain is back. I don't want to bugger up my arm long term but I'm extremely annoyed - hard to convey how annoyed without alot of swearing. Plus I wanted to get a new bike etc... but there's no point in that if I can't even ride. The pain feels like a sharp shooting pain, or as if someone has taken a razor blade to the tendon on the inside of my elbow. (It really does hurt!) My guess is tendonitis. If it is this, then apparently that can take up to 3 years to recover. I have bought some Ibuprofen to see if that will help and I also do a thorough warm up before riding. But it doesn't seem to help much, if at all. I will go to the doctors but I don't see that there is much they can do and just wanted to see if any of you lot have had a similar experience and if there is anything I can do to help it. Please help me, trials-forum! Thanks, Michael
  5. OK that's great - I wasn't looking for loads off, just trying to save some pennies at least. Thanks for the info, Adam.
  6. Thanks Ravemonkey and Joe. I get the impression you are taking offense, Joe. Obviously everyone is eligible for a discount. But I think you will find it hard to get a significant discount if you are spending £5 in a shop, rather than £5,000. The more you are spending, the more leverage you have. I haven't come in here just to say, 'look at me I'm spening some money' and obviously I wasn't saying that I am special, I deserve discount over everyone else.
  7. Hello, I'll keep this short and simple - I'm looking to spend about £1,800 on a bike and would ideally like some sort of discount because it's a lot of money. So I need a list of places where it's possible to buy trials bikes so that I can go and ask them all individually. I know of only tarty bikes and selectbikes.com. Any others? Cheers,
  8. Had my V8'a for over 11 years now (that's right, 11). However it wouldnt' be fair to say that they are in good condition. When I ride you don't really notice how ruined the bearings are, but if you get off the bike and try to spin them, they spin like a hub with 6 tooth engagement.....
  9. But would you recommend an avid on the rear, over a magura, ignoring cost differences?
  10. You also specced the rear brake as an avid v - would this be better than a magura? If rim brakes are crud on the front, won't they be just as bad on the back?
  11. OK, so as for a front disc would the hope tarty trial not be the best one out? And nobody has mentioned king hubs, are they not robust enough for trial use? Also would an eno freewheel be as reliable as a king hub? Thanks again for the help.
  12. This is a great help, thanks. I will look that the products you mentioned. No one seems to agree with my brake choice. Is it because they are not the best discs to get, or because avid ultimates and maguras are better?
  13. Thanks for the spec help. I wanted to try and make it as pimp as possible. So here is what I had in mind. Let me know if any of it is rubbish.... Ozonys black frame Atomz black forks Hope internal headset Middle burn super pro trials black cranks white magnesium pedals maxxis tyres red steel hope skewers red chris king front hub red chris king bmx hub (with heavy duty axle)...or do i need a beefed up classic hub instead? white rims of some sort?..... black hope stem black bars 'SKF BFR" bottom bracket (it's on tartybikes) Hope tarty trial sl brakes front and rear Any bolts needed in titanium etc.. It's a money-no-object scenario really so i just want what works the best
  14. The headangle point is a good one; I do love the front wheel moves...So yeah I pretty much decided on a black Ozonys with Atomz forks (so I kinda got both in the end!). Basically I have been riding the same frame and components for ages so have never looked at new stuff coming out each year. I have around 2.2k to spend on a trials bike and need some guidance on what spec to get. Would I need to start a new topic for this?
  15. Yeah, from lookiing at the geometry on tarty I had the feeling that an Ozonys would be the better choice. It's just that, to me, an Atomz built up would look sooooo P.I.M.P. Going from about -20 BB rise to +35 will be interesting..
