  1. I dont think i've ever laughed so much in all my life! That was amazin, bit stupid not wearin helmets though, but at least none of them hit their head badly unlike that dude who thought he would kiss a concrete pipe. Nice shin dig on that other vid aswell.
  2. Yeah nice bike, looks really good. I'll post some pics of my bike at some point, like quigly said its sub 9.5kg but still takes some abuse well. lol
  3. Ok then if the weathers nice i'll go, i can always lend you sum dosh quigly if you cant afford it
  4. I could be tempted to go, depends if i can be bothered to take the 1 HOUR ferry journey lol.
  5. Me and quigly will be there sunday, maybe even if its piddlin down, could be fun trying to ride in the rain.
  6. Yeah i'm one of the group now. Sunday it is then, if anyone else feels that saturday is poo then come and join me and quigly on sunday, 11 at guildhall
  7. Dunno if i can make saturday but i can definatly go sunday. I'm not sure whether or not quigly can make saturday either so sunday would be best for us.
  8. A friend of mine bought a kenny belaey frame which had a crack on the downtube, he got it re-welded but it did crack again after a few months riding. My advice would be, if you can find a cracked frame cheap enough then go for it. It isn't worth shelling out a lot of money for a cracked frame.
  9. Apparently the czar is supposed to be a nice frame to ride, also a friend of mine has a Ko-bikes KM1, which is very nice to ride, although it could be his set up.
  10. Hey don't forget the Isle of Wight riders.
  11. they look awesome to ride, i just wish that more councils would listen to us trials riders and build more parks. Or we could all move to europe
  12. My advice would be to get a comfortable pair or grips, i have found that odi ruffians are quite good as are try all grips. I have also been through the phase or not riding with gloves and my hands do kill after a long ride, i should try and buy a pair of cheap gloves that are quite tight fitting, this should stop your hands moving in them too much, and i know i will probably get slated for this but you could try using hand cream after each ride, might soften your hands up and stop them hurting.
  13. Hello there, as everyone else has said i think that a mod maybe a little too small for you being so tall. If your looking for an entry level stock bike then the t-rex (as someone has already mentioned) is a pretty good choice, or you could look at the woodstock. My advice to you would be to phone up tartybikes and speak to adam or dave, they will probably be able to give better advice than me and they should help you get sorted out. cheers
  14. Well i bought a czar ivan about 4 months ago, at first it felt a bit weird but once i got used to the bike it felt really nice on the rear wheel. I started noticing that i had lost my taps, and my gapping wasnt as good. It felt like everything needed more effort, except riding rocks. I've now gone back to my old low bb bike, i have got my taps and gpas back, and i can sidehop bout 4 inches higher than i could on the high bb. In my opinion they are amazing for really technical rock riding, but i dont think there are any high bb frames that are perfect for street. I think that the chainstay length on most high bb frames is too small to make them feel nice on street, for a +60mm bb i rekon you would need 400mm chainstays. Anyway hope this helps, this is just my opinion though, feel free to tell me i'm talking crap.
  15. I can make 6 blue pallets fairly easily. Not sure what that is in inches
  16. Well i own a czar, have to say at first it felt a bit weird riding it, but i'm getting used to it now and it feels really nice. Its really well made, looks super tough. A pretty good investment if you ask me.
  17. Well i havnt got the internet at my flat, so anytime i want to use the net i have to go round my mums place. Bit annoying but hey thats life. see you next sunday mate Tank
  18. When you say evo maggie i asume you mean the 06 version? Well i know two people who have them, both rear brakes. I have to say both brakes seem pretty good. Maybe they are not upto the stress of a front brake, but the rears seem ok. If it was me personally though i would try and find an old maggie, i like these a lot more. Hope i've helped. Tank
  19. ok well me and a few others will be there on the sunday, hopefully my eno and viz bb will arrive soon so i can put my heatsink pads on. Anyone else tryed the red pads with the cnc backings? they look really sweet. Tank
  20. Hey, if you guys make the ride on the 29th (sunday) i'm sure i'll be able to drag a few of the islanders along with me. Hopefully i'll have my damn eno by then. I hope your limey's fixed by then si cos i aint seen it yet. mind you, you aint seen my ivan yet have you. Tank
  21. I think it's a matter of personal preference which way you sidehop. I know people that are left footed and sidehop to the left, it's all a matter of what feels best, also if you're going to be sidehopping to the right i'd recommend getting a fresh products tensioner to save your mech hanger.
  22. If i could ride mod properly i would give it a crack cos it is fun to ride. For me personally i find stock better, i guess i'm used to bigger bikes now having always rode stock. As for length, i'd say 1100 for people that are 5'9" and above, 1080 otherwise, but again thats just me bein all uci, if you into a more biu style and like your street moves then something shorter would suit you.
  23. All i can suggest is find a wall that gets gradually bigger, stick to woteva technique you find easiest, either from back wheel or from two wheels. Start off small on the wall, as soon as you make one move along a bit and keep trying that. As soon as you mess one up or dont make it i'd stop trying for that day, and then when you come back to the wall the next day try the one you messed up straight away. Me and a few peeps tryed this, seems to have helped us, i can sidehop bout 3 inches over my bar height now, stock bike that is. Hope this helps.
  24. I've heard that bristol is supposed to be amazing, but living on the Isle of Wight i havnt had much chance to travel that far. Damn ferries! I can tell you that portsmouth is pretty good, lots of nice stuff, and so is southampton. Come to the island though if you want some natural. We've got harbours stacked wid rocks.
  25. I was riding a coust copy frame, have to say it was really good, improved my riding a lot. But it was time for a change and i'm getting a czar ivan hopefully tomorrow. I'll post on here how that rides cos i know a few people on here wanted to get one. (Y)
