just stripped it, cleaned and re-lubed it. seems to be making a louder click but has alot of drag because i stretched the springs, or atleast i think thats the reason anyways, seems ok, i'll report back tomoz night after a good old ride on it. cheers Will

why wont the motherfudgecake stop skipping? its shat all the grease out of the bearings, so i've cleaned that up, cleaned all the pawls and ratchet teeth untill spotless. then put a drop or two of oil in the mechanism. it skips so much nowadays it pisses me off! its about 2-4 months old and i've had it from new. any siggestions? stretch springs? no oil? more oil? cheers! actually, reading back it would seem silly to helicoil it, but it aint my bike! just get a new one, but dont ride it in the meantime, i've had a valve go all stiff from the crap that gets in there

fool, its a dust cap! meaning it keeps out dust, i never ride without them, especially in the summer...
