  1. Everyone may use hs-33 brakes but no-one should keep them standard as they will slip with trials riding. Right there are a few factors you need to consider when making your brake better: 1. Dont use magura pads, go for some trials persific pads there are loads, check out tartybikes for a good range. 2. Is your rim smooth or ground. Many people grind there rims with an angle grinder to make a uneven rough surface, this helps the pads bite but some pads were down alot quicker with a grind. 3. Are you using tar. Tar or bitchum (sp?) can be rubbed onto a rim to give more bite and hold in the rear brake. Other factors that you can take into consideration is to get your brake bleed every now and then to keep it in good working order. Try some cnc'd brake mounts to hold you brake tight. Get a booster, this goes ontop of your brake mounts and stops your frame flexing under braking pressure. Also even try a braided cable, this will give you a more smoother lever/piston action and will be very hard to brake if you fall onto it. But we really need to know your brake setup before we can give relevant help, and decide what you need. EDIT : If you need to talk about your setup, i can give you some suggestions if you add me to msn. (address in profile)
  2. That made me laugh so much for some reason, it was just so blunt. Anyway welcome to the forum i can see your getting your stay of to the right foot (please note the added sarcasm) And how long has Pete wright been in new members, i want to try and beat him. Edit - woh just found his profile, hes been here since 2003 wow im well away.
  3. Dry, no contest. I dont trust my brake in the wet, crm pads are like rubbing a sponge against your rim to stop it in the wet.
  4. Do you have a slow puncture? Because this happens to me at the moment but i cant be bothered to get a new tube.
  5. How did i know this was going to happen . Ahh well my bad, this can be closed if need be. Opps
  6. Great a topic where i can use what ive just found. This is clive leesons latest venture, the "2win disc" i know showing this is a bit off topic, but dosnt it look lovely and proof to you that rear disc's probely can work really well, i just hope that you side hop to the right and bending it wont be much of a problem. for a full spec on the 2win disc go here or check out ww.leesonbikes.co.uk
  7. Just found these on clives site, so id thought id be the first (probely not) to give them a write up. First of all we have the Leeson 2win disc Specs: As usual your choice of geo Standard 609 but with uprated features i.e. 3D rear disc mount Internal brake pipes Chain tensioned by compact Leeson eccentric B/B Integrated frame/seat post And the Leeson 505 (Mod) Specs: 135 rear hub Compact Leeson eccentric B/B (with height adjustment )

  10. My BT raven 4, i think its the only one still on the forum but im probely wrong. I love this bike to bits especially that king. It may not be the pretiest (sp) or the most expensive but it does me fine, i ride it well and enjoy it thats the main thing. A quick spec for you: Raven 4.0 Rear king with ronnie Fsa pig headset Hs-33's Plaz pads Kmc kool Saracen forks (bomb proof imo) Dmr V8's Etc.....
  11. Very true in most cases, unless you happen to be riding with a certain person (who rides a control) not naming any names, around sainsburys car park in fareham because this happens: Security Guard: "Right you lot bugger of or im calling the police" Control rider: " go on then dare you!"
  12. I think he was talking about Holy rollers, If you were talking about holy roler then im sure there are better choices as that tyre is designed for street use or hard packed dirt. Have a look at these Tyre 1 Tyre 2 Tyre 3 The only tryed and tested one above is the highroller, but ive allways wondered how the other two would perform they look mighty grippy. So in conclusion you're best bet would be the high roller.
  13. A backflip? I really didn't think it was his style, but if you saw it fair play to you.
  14. Oh my god that must be the best new member post every put up, you should be validated in no time at all, welcome to the forum, people may seem harsh at times on this forum but its all for the best and these people will become good friends anyway.
  15. I really think that you shouldn't have done that. It may not seem like it but that will really have an affect on the strength of the frame. Just goes to show how we are becoming obsessed with weight and making things light, this shouldn't be the case as there are alot of people who can chuck around heavier bikes just because they have learnt how to do stuff and not made things lighter so they think they perform better.
