  1. My advice, don't do it! Get better first and then still, don't do it! We do bike trials here and although it may be a massive move dropping 5ft, it's pointless. Learn moving around rocks on your bike like your walking on flat ground. Learn how to be smooth, consistant, accurate. Just doing drops will knacker you, your bike and you'll soon have a hole in your wallet. Be different to everyone else and learn real trials, do more natural and technical street moves. When you get better, perhaps give it a go but dropping 5ft plus will not make you a better rider. You may aswell just break your legs now with a hammer. Rob

    My Rides

Greedy boy having two steeds! But any how, they do look rather nice but hate to be the one to tell you that you've got the Kool chain on upside down on the 26". HA
  3. Correct me if i'm wrong here, but isn't one of the most influentual and different, flowing trials riders in the world canadian (Ryan Leach)? Well i think he is!?
  4. go to the onza website and look for the retaillers outlets where you can buy them from. or, or..... go to google and type in 'smart guy forks' first hit takes you to supercycles online store click on it and they come up with a price! Does no one know how to use google anymore????
  5. Thank you for taking the time to reply everyone. I was a bit pissed off last night and had been reading over old topics and was getting a bit mad at comments left by people. I do apologize sincerely. Koxx forks are they! I like the look of them and was wondering if they give a better 'stopping power' as the wheel runs through the brakes and forces them against the frame instead of conventionally pulling the mounts away from the forks? Either way, grind and a quick wipe of tar should work. I just think they look rather smart. And Damon, what cooler ones are on the way? Do elaborate more..... Cheers guys, Robert
  6. Does no one know of the forks that i'm on about? Everyone has an opinion about everyone else and everyone loves to slag and bully other members, but when i ask a simple question everyone is stumped!!!! I'll phone dave at tarty, he's nice and will help unlike all the pubescent minors online!! Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Sick and tired of reading threads where everyone talks rubbish, swears for no reason and actually have not a great deal of importance to say! Other than that this is a great forum when the right people are online. I know i'm gonna start up a hate mail attack now but i hope this topic will be closed before everything gets too out of hand. Cheers guys, Rob

    Hastings

What a great evenings riding in hastings i have had today! Shame no one else bothered to get their lazy arses outta bed to come enjoy it too. Went to the old town and the new town and didn't even get a chance to session the rocks (i really wanted to but was too dark at 10:30) Definetly a great place for a ride with loads of big ups, hopping gaps, rails and some nice technical lines. Got some good footage too for the video i'm gonna make. Any hows, i had fun and wanted to share. Cheers, Robbie
  8. Right then, i'm heading down to hastings for a great ride! Sorry no one else was able to make it. Catch you all later. Cheers, rob
  9. Come on people! You telling me no one has the evening free for a nice relaxing evening riding hastings? No ones is hardcore enough, pussies! Meet at the coach park by the old fish yard near the sea life center.
  10. I use Fox bmx shin guards. Only cost my £15 Light, comfy and i don't really sweat in them much. Well worth it. Rob
  11. Me and me mate Darren are heading down Hastings around 16:00-16:30 today and wondering if any local riders wanna join in the fun? We have a different riding style and do like technical lines and mixing other lines up with spin and gaps (and the normal trials stuff) plus i'm not that good and still learning. If any riders wanna join us they are more than welcome (we do like new tricks and ideas to trials). Got a camcorder recently so will be doing some filming, so if any unknown riders want to take part and get themselves out there, we're making a movie! My number is: 07921507114 Hopefully see some new faces down there and just to let you know, we are as crazy as a large box of mad hatters so be aware lol. Cheers, Robbie
  12. If you are really that worried about dents, just buy an armourdillo bash guard. They cost around £15, really tough and velcro around your down tube and can be placed right down to your BB. They don't move about and i think are great for someone that is learning and keeps stacking. I use one. Don't care what anyone else thinks about it. Even if i fall off, my bike should stay stronger, for longer. You can always remove it if someone starts taking the piss but no one really messes with me so don't have that problem lol. Cheers, robbie
  13. Hey there fellow riders! I'm searching for some 26" forks. They're the ones with the 4-bolt magura mounts on the wrong way round so that they are facing the down tube. Like the ones Matt Staples had on his KOT on the GET 1 dvd. So does anyone know who they are made buy and where i can get a pair from? Cheers, Robbie
  14. And your point is??? Stop stealing other peoples' lyrics and come up with some of your own!
  15. Montys' are made for discs! You've gotta run that bike with double discs dude, it will look awesome. Imagine how smooth it will ride. No squeeks or brake squeelling. Plus the discs will finish the look of that bike off beautifully. I think you should consider it but it's your build so will leave it up to you. Great work so far though and think i may try and take up a simillar project, it looks satisfying to start from scratch and get a great bike at the end to either ride or sell. Cheers, Rob
  16. There will probably be loads of people going, but not sure about myself. Swapping jobs so may not be able to take leave. When is the exact dates of NASS? Rob
  17. Well it's got to be there really so that you can attach the wheel. Unless i take it off and replace it with one of the broken ones, but those silly 'K' mech hangers bend and wharp like butter in the sun. The broken ones don't really work anymore. They're a hard fit.
  18. If you've got about £15 spare, pop down to your local halfords and look for a dvd by the two martyns called 'Dirty tricks and cunning stunts'. I studyied that dvd for hours and it really helped me improve very fast. It's full of basic moves and how to train and learn to do them. Definetly worth buying. PS.. It may come as a double pack with Bi-King on it aswell which is another great learning dvd by the Martyns.
  19. Why thanks Mr Staples. They are rather long aren't they. Got my legs even more mashed up since the last time you saw them. The one you took photage of won't heal. It keeps getting infected and my dog keeps licking it (not my balls i may add). I'll try and get a photo up of the damage. Rob Larkins It may just be because of the size gears i'm running. They just happen to fit perfectly with that many links in the chain. I may be sad enough to count the amount of links i'm using (i'll have to be very bored though). You can use any normal chain tool with the kmc and they come with a split link as standard. Rob Larkins
  20. I was running 22:18 at one point. It was great for getting up stuff but i was getting no really static power. I had a go on my friends bike and he was using 20:18 and the whole feel of the bike was really flicky and i couldn't control it but i soon upgraded my 22:18 to 22:20. Imuch prefer it but finding that i'm having to use massive bunnyhops to get up stuff. Still practising front wheel taps to get my height though. I may get proper gears one day, who knows how i might progress. Cheers for all the comments guys, Rob Larkins
  21. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep that in mind. So basically, the tensioner obviously tensions the chain but also allows for movement in the frame and as you've said, if i hit the bash. I'm gonna leave it like this for a while longer but i may start asving for one of those ober good tensioners. Just hope i don't break it. Thanks, Rob
  22. [attachmentid=5786]Hello fellow zoo pitbull riders! Nifty little trick if your running 22T front and 20T on the rear. I'm using a standard Kool chain. I got a bit miffed when i kept landing on the mech hanger. I took out a couple of links to get it tighter and higher up in to the frame when i found out i didn't need to run a tensioner. To remove the chain or wheel you just have to loosen it and push it forward in to the frame slightly. I'm guessing someone else has probably done something similar but this is how i did it with my frame. I've been running this now for 3 months and haven't had a single problem and it's always got perfect tension. Just waiting for the chain to stretch now. I'm working one a mini bash plate for the rear gear incase i ever land on it so will keep you guys updated if a make it and how it works. Cheers, Rob Larkins
  23. alright, calm down...... everyone is entitled to their own oppinion and that was mine. i just think there is more to life than what other people think of your bike. rob
  24. was in maidstone riding the other saturday and it was baking. my legs were killing me from a recent ride in southampton and i'd just had enough. i was hot, i was tired, my legs and my hands hurt, my brake was slipping and i was so shagged i couldn't clean anything. my mate darren had been eyeing up the river all day saying he wanted to just jump in. it was so tempting. in the end he talked me in to it. we stripped of to our shorts and shoes, got on our bikes and got as much speed as we could and just pulled the biggest bunnyhop i cud. crashing in to the water was the best thing i had done all day. it was cold and refreshing and left a weird after taste in my mouth but i didn't care cos it was awesome. taking a kicker ramp next time for some proper air. maybe some backflips and 360. we're gone take a proper camcorder and get some footage and post it on next time. it's such a laugh. one word of advice, coat your frame and parts in wd40 or gt85 to help with water displacement and strip your bike down the next day and re-grease the lot. rob
  25. i'm still working on my side hops. i can cleanly bunny hop 47" up a wall without having to tap the front wheel so i should soon, hopefully be able to transfer that in to a side hop. i'm just working on my confidence, i hate grinding my shins against walls! rob
