    Proto V2

I'm really liking the ideas on this frame. Minimalistic properties! Having those internal brake mounts will cut down on so much twisting of the frame (maybe.... just an outward push/flex of the frame). Because they are not bolted to the end/outside of the frame, there shall not be enough leverage to get a great deal of flex. Good chunky design for still a good basis for strength. Less material and good butting* (i'm guessing as it's aluminium....*drilling material from with inside the frame) But this minimalistic look, will it cut down the life span of the frame. Could be great for competition but what if your a great rider in the making? Will it keep up with a damage caused from learning new moves and heights on the streets and just general riding? People say "it's ugly". It may be super light and tough! You just don't know yet. Too many people are involved in looks of their bike instead of how it rides and weight. Trials is supposed to be competition based but is progressing more in to the street side. I myself am getting more in to natural to further my trails abilities. All those people that can side hop huge heights.... can they do it both sides (left and right), NO! Trails is progressing and things such as this frame should not be scowled upon. But then new things do look dawnting and change can not always be good. But then i do partly agree with Ashtons latest coment in MBUK. But if they is never progress, everyone will be the same (boring). Who knows?! Lets see where technology and progression can lead. Robert
  4. Hey all. It's all sorted now. Was still slightly drunk when writting that post but tried to make it understandable. All three of them were held in custordy till 6pm as they needed a russian interpretor. Given my statement and it hasn't gone to court but he now has a criminal record and if he does something again he will definetly go straigh to court. When i asked him why he had done it, he had seen my friend being silly and thought that he was allowed to come over and hit me. he then came out with that other shit about guns and killing. My dad has taught me not to fight and i don't like to anyway. Police said he was very drunk and tried to resist arrest and then they made all three miss work and made them sweat it out by not giving them their fags. The coppers were fully on my side and it felt like they were bending the rules slightly in my favour. Hate them for what they did. Bastards! Chin proper kains but swelling gone down now. Rob
  5. Just got home home after noght out to celebrate leaving my job to start a new job. On way home was doing nothing with two friends. They were jumping up to try and touch street signs/shop signs. When we got to castle bus stop in tonbridge, the three men behind us approached my friend adam but adam moved away. When i looked up, one of them was in front of me and usherded me close. When i moved closer he head butted me on the chin and when i moved away he then punched oon the same place on my chin. Talked my way out of a fight and got his name. He was Russian and a kickboxer and said "in Russia we can kill people and use AK47". When he finally left and i shoock his hand, phoned the police imediatley. Never, ever been in a fight or started a fight! Totally un-provoicted. Waiting for police to contact me. Lucky to get head butted and punched on the chin. The Russian twat wasn't tall enough to reach my nose but no one is ever gonna assult me and get away with it. All three are in custderdy and should be in jail. Slight swollen chin but no major damage. Luck to get away with no serious harm. Really angry and wanted to hurt them but am not an agressive man. Feel soo soryy for myself for no reaason. Rob
  6. Your f**ing weird! You were riding fine in London and was doing all those moves you were just taking about! Whats your problem? And it's not your tyres, they were covered in tread! When i rode your bike it was fine and i ride stock and am 6'6"! I sometimes wonder about you and whether or not you are truely writing topics for your post percentage or just because you aren't quite all there. Nice guy and all but you come out with some strange comments, such as in London you said "my brakes are crap, i'm thinking of changing them". You don't remember how well those brakes locked? I'm huge and they stopped dead! You riding a pretty much new bike for gods sake! Sort yourself out Jon and try to experience your bike, stop complaining about the bike when perhaps it's just you and stop upgrading to something new every 5 minutes. I'm goimg to bed angry now!
  7. Hello Rowan. Here are some pics of the seat. One very tiny dig on left, arse area. Bout 2mm big. Can have either whole lot or just the seat. As i said in PM, yours for free so even if it looks wank, it doesn't matter. Rob [attachmentid=6877] [attachmentid=6878]
  8. Check out his posts on his membership. It's all 3 word replies such as 'nice on mate', 'nice pics' or 'looks good mate' He's not very talkative! Maybe thats why, who knows? Maybe he's not worthy of being validated.
  9. What a great day that was! I was loving every minute of it. I managed so much and really enjoyed watching some of the skills being pulled out the hat. Great photos joe (but i'm now expert), You've really managed to catch the effort and the fun invovled in the ride. It looks like i'm riding straight in to the wall on my photo but i did make it. Cheated again with one big bunny hop Didn't realise how silly those pads looked on me. May have to get some bigger ones as they are small. Catch you all on a ride near you soon. Robster

    New Tattoos

With what colours? It's not colour by number! I'll have to consult Dave. Rob
  11. Yep Mr Maher, that was me. Thanks for doing the pics, look forward to seeing them all. Rob

    New Tattoos

Thought i'd join in as my tatto is finally looking decent. Everyone say "hi Dave". He was designed by myself and a friend and took a year to decide what i wanted and how i wanted it to look. Don't like doing things by half, so went all out and got something big that can also look stylish with the tail hanging out by my forearm (less obvious to see when wearing a tshirt). The head is faded as that was the original and was crap. The rest has been thickened out and had New Zealand mouri designs added in. I love Dave and proud to have him. Was my choice and didn't rush into getting him. I want more but don't know what. More patterns and designs around him or just something new on the other arm. Enjoy. Rob [attachmentid=6858]
  13. What an amazing ride! Had loads of fun, tried new things, met new faces and old ones and just had a great day out. Mr Maher, did you get any pictures of me? if yes, can you send to me? Watched some incredible riding and had a go myself. Loving that gap up to a rail right infront of a wall (bit after subway lunch break). Glad to see loads of people enjoying our sport. We need some kind of publicity to get more of these rides seen and put on TV (maybe contact SKY or MTV or even local broadcasters for a future event) Anyhow, see you all next time. Robster
  14. Darren Hill thought bike hut stems were good. He got mad...... He threw his bike...... He twisted his stem????? Tore his front brake hose aswel but nothing else was damaged apart from twisting (ie. like ringing out a cloth) his bike hut stem. Other than that it was a good stem. Rob
  15. Hmm......... I'm undecided?? I think i liked it more when it was the gold/bronze colour but thats my choice. Still looks really nice Rowan, just don't scratch it. Still got that little saddly if you wanted it (PM me)? Rob
  16. Sorry adam, i love buying stuff from Tartybikes (especially to here your voice) but recently had to cross to the enemies shop. Select bikes do ZOO pads (the green ones), think they were £17. Got mine through last week. They may have limited stock left if they are being discontinued. Rob
  17. Erm.... Yeah! Thats what the spacers are for. Hope just have lots of smaller ones but they all fit on with one gear. Gusset single speed kits just come with the two larger spacers. Take your wheel off the frame. You may need to take out the skewer aswel. Take down to your local bike shop if you don't have the tools. You need the tool that looks like a spanner but with a bike chain attached to it and the correct sized BB tool that fit on the end of the freewheel. (i know how to do it, just don't know the names of the tools :$ ) But best take it to a bike shop. Rob
  18. True, you need to be pushing yourselves or everyone will just be doing the same soon. You've got the huge gaps and sidehops of CLS and Damon Watson. You've got the natural stuff/technical lines by the comp boys (Ali C, Danny Butler, Ben Savage) You've got the flowing style with bmx lines by Rohan Jons. Do what you wanna do but you will never progress unless you push yourself. I myself like to push and get better but also love to spend hours going over little things and trying more technical lines. But as MBUK said in their 'whats hot and whats not' section - hopping on the back wheel is not hot and flowing is hot. I quote Mr Staples - "Anyone can be smooth. They just need to do smaller stuff than they usually do" Try taking a step back and go over easier lines and make them look easy and try adding technical routes across whatever your doing. Trials is about getting from A to B without dabbing. Some people make it look easy, some people can get up and over huge obstacles. But as long as your having fun and doing what you enjoy, who gives a shit how you do it! Rob
  19. Where the second wheel on the jocky would have been, he's put the axle through it instead and then uses the the hub and the frame to pinch the tensioner tight into position. My mate does it too. Works well and if you land on it, it just moves up and doesn't usually break. Don't know why he's running it though? he's got horizontal dropouts.
  20. Not a very wise subject! Talking about speeding and dodging getting caught speeding through speed cameras when someone on this forum died by stupid idiots speeding and joy riding! I've been in too many cars when the driver is a twat and wants to show off. It's not clever and people get hurt one way or another. Topic ended.
  21. Hmm..... I'm getting scarred in the morning at 11 till 13:00 then should be free. Could cancel my scedule after 13:00 and meet around 14:30 and ride till 22:00? Your choice sir. Rob
  22. yeah thats sorter on my doorstep. Can get there in 10 minutes by train. Been there a few times but the ain't much else to ride there but definetly up for a bit of natural after visiting Porthcawl. See if you can get down with Ron and his new car.
  23. -Door bell rings!!! Someone get up and answer the door! There's some weird boy at the door called Boris. He locked himself out! Suppose we'll let him back in as long as he gets me a cup of tea.
  24. I'm not that keen on ashford but nothing wrong with tonbridge. The more i progress, the more i'm finding to ride. Trialnoir belongs to you then? I can't do a late one so can't travel far but we will decide on something. rob
