Well, my friend is looking to start riding trials and he wants a mod. At my local bke shop, they stock the Base T19s and the Ashton Justice mod. Basically, I don't know too much about mods and I'm not sure what to advise him on. If someone could take a look at the specs on the Base website - www.basebikes.com and give me a hand, that'd be great. If these thing aren't worth the money, should he just go for a T-Pro or T-Mag from Tarty? He absolutely does not want to go second hand either, and is looking to spend no more than £400-£500. I don't really know a lot about trials vs. dirt jump, but I've used my Base TA26 for dirt jumping and it felt pretty good. Perhaps look into one of those?

Unless you had some kind of significat injury, the police won't do f**k all. To be honest, they wouldn't do much if you lost a limb really. A few weeks back, I was walking back from the shops with my girlfriend, and some piece of shit chav came from behind and hit me round the head with a log, knocking me out. I had the biggest black eye ever, my lip was a complete mess from hitting the floor when I fell, and he just happened to hit a nerve in my neck too, which messed up my hand; it was twitching uncontrollably for a couple of days then just went completely numb, and its still not completely better. My friend reported it to the police immediately, to the Leyland police, which is the town in which it happened. The next day the bacon took statements from me and my girlfriend. The officer that did it was from Chorley police station (I live in Chorley.) Dr. Log Assault lives in Leyland, so its Leyland police department who have to deal with it all. Chorley and Leyland police depts. are probably about 10 minutes apart. It took them a week just to get my case information from Chorley to Leyland. It then took them another MONTH to actually arrest the f**ker that attacked me, despite having been given his full name, address, and phone number the night after it happened. And even then he was out the next day, threatening my girlfriend's brother. Not once did the police phone me to inform me of what was going to happen. I always had to ring them to find out what was happening. I then found out that the shit who assaulted me was already tagged, and was in court not a week before he attacked me, for holding a knife to someones throat. It was 5 weeks ago today that it happened. Still, I've heard nothing. No word about compensation or damages, nothing about what the guys actually been charged for, whats going to be happening to him, and why the f**k he was still out roaming the streets. In summary, the police in this country are a joke. I'm beginning to regret ever getting them involved, and just having the shitstain sorted out through other means. Getting the police involved in anything is an absolute waste of time.

I've always ridden like that. Before I rode trials, or before I even knew what it was I rode with my feet like that. Having the pedal in the centre of my foot just felt.....wrong? Stupid? Having the balls of my feet on the pedals, not the middle of my feet, was just second nature to me. I can't even ride with the pedal in the centre of my foot, let alone do any trials maneuvers. Thats really, really strange how many people ride with their feet centred rather than the balls of their feet.

The university/security company should pay up in full, for being f***ing irresponsible and moving security cameras. If they don't, then surely you have a brilliant grounding for some kind of legal case at least?

I seem to have...hit a wall, recently. Although, I've not been riding long. Everytime I went out, I was learning new things, and felt pretty confident whilst I was out, which was great. But now, I'm stuck on pedal kicks/back wheel hops. I can do about 8 static hops on the back wheel if I'm lucky, and perhaps one pedal kick if I'm very lucky. I've been working on them for weeks, its getting frustrating. I've been putting them off til now, to work more on my balance and stuff, which I've got as good as its gonna get for the time being, so I need to work on everything else and catch up.

Maybe I have! I saw two people riding on the way up to the docks a few weeks ago. I can remember one of them was on a bright orange mod, I have no idea what kind though. Yes, I do have a bike, a Base TA26.

That would be ace. I'd definitely be up for a ride with some people. I've watched and been amazed by trialas riders at the docks in Preston for yeeeeears. Sat in the car with my parents eating dinner from the green frog . Anyway. I'd love to meet up with some other riders, but I'm not very good. I definitely wouldn't be able to do anything at the docks though. I'm only in chorley aswell, so if I could get a lift I'd be able to make it. Doubtful though

Sounds like a lot of fun. Any more info on this demo in Manchester? I'd love to nosey down to that. Manchester looks like a great place to go for a ride too.
