  1. Hi just a quick question and hopefully a problem solved. I run a tensile 60 click ffw, but the problem im having is the freewheel is touching the bb shell and undoing the bottom bracket. I think i need to put a spacer in between the ffw and the crank, Is this correct and where can i find them?. Iv checked out tarty bikes but cant seem to find anything there, Does you peeps know where i can get a pair of zed spacers thanks very much !

think you will need a longer bb mate.

  2. because a mate might be donating an old one to me.

i got an echo urban but i ride more tgs, i wouldnt recomend this sort of frame, if you want to do tgs on a 24 go for a because trials frame, the geo is much more suited for tgs, im thinking about changing my frame to it.

in the mean time i have bought a higher stem with a steep angle which has helped on the back wheel a lot, i went for 95 35deg, i would have prefered a little longer though.

  3. hi, im hopefully going to start building a 24" soon for street stuff, i was wondering which rims are better the sun rhyno lite or DMR dv?

im personally gonna go for an echo tr, i will have a front wheel for sale in two weeks. dmr dv with a hope pro2 if your interested.

  4. Either as long as you go for a decent set-up....I'be had both and got on really well with both.

My recommendation would be MIddleburns with a TNN bash, rear ISO king

    orr

Try-all cranks, Echo SL FFW, Trialtech ti bash, Try-all 'H' hub

Thats what I'd run if it were me, the only real difference between the two is price and weight distribution really....

ive ordered now, i went for the speedrace cranks, tarty said they were very similar to the try all, sl freewheel, echo tr bash and a because rear hub. If something brakes with this setup it will be a lot cheaper to replace parts.

  5. Ive decided to get rid of my chris king and middleburns and replace them with a front freewheel setup. is this a wise move? Its an Echo Urban by the way, and im not very streety rider?

The front freewheel set up is less weight overall and the weight has moved towards the center.

  6. Loving the Monty, very oldskool!

Shame about the Echo - however, if you get a higher rise stem on there the bike will feel COMPLETELY different, something like 110 x 35 degrees ish and I think you'll enjoy it a lot more... (Y)

What do you recomend stem wise then mate? might try that first before i brake it as i would love to keep it. i have some trialtech bars which should be here in the next day or to for the echo too.

Here are the latest pics of my current bikes, first we have an old School gem, its a really good condition monty 221 Xlite from 1997/8. the way this bike rides you wouldnt believe its age, it would still put a lot of modern bikes to shame.

Next we have my 24" Echo Urban, i have spent a lot of money getting this to a high standard only to find i dont get on with it :( check my for sale thread for parts. will be a shame to split a bike that looks as good as this.

Hope you like, (NICE) comments welcome

  8. I havnt mastered this yet myself but my friend has and the way he described to do it is as your approaching wrong foot forward most newbies pedal all the way round in one mostion to get up, this is ok for smaller walls but when you want to go bigger you have to pedal half way to lift the front up, pause then pedal kick.

If you pedal all the way round in one motion there is only so much power you can get into the kick as the gears are engaged, the pause lets you re engage with the front already in the air to give you the extra height.

I hope that makes sense lol. Its all about timing though which is the hard bit.

  9. 16-14........cummon no ones that weak.

I didnt realise the gear ratio you run is a display of strength. If you must know this is the ratio i was running on my 26" as advised by tarty, i havnt tested it yet on the 24", but if its too light i will change it.

All the bits have just been swapped from the 26" and will be upgraded to suit.

    thanks for your imput :)

  10. Even for trials flat bars feel like poo :P Once you go risers, you never go back!

To be fair if you read the bottom of my first post i said next on the list is some Echo TR riser bars! and its pay day tomorrow! lol. I didnt have the money to get everything straight away.

good to see the frame go to a good home, hows it riding for you?

Only managed to get the rear wheel built yesterday so havnt had a proper ride yet. hopefully get out tonight for a bit. Frame is mint though, really happy with it thanks.
