  1. just been to the site where the accident happened and i was over welmed by the amount flowers and tributes hat have been left for nick in just couple of days.

was really sad to see the amount of comments left there.

there was even a few bike parts left there which probally used to belong to him.

    rip mate

  2. Fair play, this bloke is top!

sent him an e-mail last night, got a reply off him when i woke up.

He said he can send 4 frames cheaper with a saving of 180usd, so i'm guessing we'd save £90 on postage.

I'm going to order my desired frame, if anyone else does please put your name down Here, if you put the details of the frame you want, we'll send it all together in one order form, and if everyone sends me the payment, i'll send it in one sum.

    Sound good?

    (:

    Luke

    common guys,

any type of frame and geo you want.

could be a good chance to get your 24" street frame or a replica of any of your frav bikes.

all for around £100 quid altogether too.

also completely steel which will mean it can be mended by a local welder if it cracks without any worry.

  3. Trailstar looks awesome fun... I need to get out on my XC bike this week :D

its all fun apart from these slippy hot s tires!

i ended up doing a bit of drifting on some single track because off them last weekend :P

  4. I was thinking about that earlier. ^

One big memorial ride, or a few dotted around different places, so everyone could pay some respect?

i think that would be a great idea,

hobbsie was about one of the only riders ive met who inspired me when i rode with him.

wish i could only ride with him one more time.

  5. this is stupid, i cant really express in words.

nick hobbs was one the most most social, happy and funnyest people. i feel gutted that i havat spoken to him in the last couple of years.

i remeber riding with nick for the first time, way before i joined this forum. it was in portsmouth when we bumped into each other on his old giant!

rode with him loads of time years ago.

    will truely be missed!

i hate the world we live in which takes away precious life, where people can take a life this easliy.

  6. is it 65 for all the frames and can you have any type of brake mounts on it

    tris

i think from what we have been told already that this is true, but it seems any more information we should contact marino directly to get a quote. thats what im doing!

  7. lever wise i would go for a shimano, i use a old xt lever and its great.

i used to use an avid sd7 and they just dont feel as comfortable as any of the shimano range.

by the sounds of it your just looking for a cheap alternative for now, so any lever would work really.

  8. I've already talked to Marino, shipping costs are £35 arriving in 4-5 weeks and £56 arriving in one week.

just out of interest does he also make xc frames also at a similar price?

    the frames look lush.

any idea on weight, im guessing there not going to be amazingly light weight!

i may also look into getting a street frame >_<

  9. Ashton Justice frames are one of my favorite frames. It is always nice to see them.

I would go with 22-19 for gears and you will have perfect chain length.

im actually currently looking for a deep 19 tooth sprocket for the rear, my 18 tooth seems to heavy.

    cheers for the comment

  10. Both beasty bikes there mate!

Make me want to spray my ashton white! What bars you running on the ashton there? And how do they feel?

    Owen

its a kinda creamy white, but done poorly :(

bars are some over sized backspire dh ones with a 1 1/2" rise. feels good to me.

  11. hey just to show of my rides really.

my ashton justice for the trials

and my dmr trailstar for agreesive xc, free rides/ everything.

    IMG_1712.jpg

picture quality on the justice is abit rubbish!

    cheers

  12. hey all

im looking for a good set of v brake pads.

basically my v plaz pads have just fallen apart, they gave amazing grip but with no modulation and gave a really flexy feel, which i didn't like.

atm i have shimano standard pads on there which are hardly locking with gaps to front wheel, etc.

can anyone recommend some good hard compond v pads? something like koxx browns but in v form?

    cheers

  13. i wouldnt really think it would be worth it in my opinion, i have never had a problem with using ether the 04 or the new current levers.

they both provide excellent locking potential, anything else is over kill. imo

they only other levers i liked in the past is the rb levers, so comfy.
