  1. yo all

i have just recieved my ashton justice off ebay and its full on bodges.

basically it had burns on it which is good, however one arm was 165mm long and the other was 175mm log! not good

second the rear brake mounts have all but one been retapped, so there is 1 m5, 2m6 and 1 m7 yes m7 :|

the rest is in good nick really just not what i was expecting from the bike considering what was mentioned on the ad

basically if your buying a second hand bike/frame then its best to buy of here :P

also are there helicoil kits which bring m6 threds back to m5's and m7 to m6 or even m5??

    cheers

oh and has a fsa orbit botton headset and head set top cup :P

  2. my mate used to have one of these, lol. he snapped the seat tube away from the top tube!

my other mate also used to have a zoo boa! and they were considered to be new school at the time! haha

  3. haha

i have been riding since i just turned 15 and im now 21 and im rubbish. i had a year out just because i got so fed up with chasing people and trying to improve. i have just started back up again just for fun this time but im worse than ever :P

looking back at the old get3large video when james porter was riding his curtis when he was like 15 ish, he was still better then i am now at 21 with 6 years experience :P

so yeh, best advice i can say is just enjoy it and don't push yourself to hard if your only doing it to improve.

  4. sorted and working again on water. only problem is my tpa totally fell apart so i have to make one from scratch now.

what i did in the end was get a large drill bit and wrapped wire wool around, carefully took it inside the cylinder and piston. put alot of oil in the cylinder and put it back together.

good as new, apart from the tpa of course.

  5. nope, it still does it when there is no lever on the body.

its the piston inside the lever that gets stuck, it returns back to normal but can take up to a minuet to do so which means when its on my bike the wheel will get locked for ages

I had the exact same problem. I personally think it might have something to do with bleeding with water. As the piston isn't getting lubed up anymore.

Anyway, i just bought a new leaver. :(

when it happened to you did you try bleeding it with oil afterwards?

also would putting a bit of grease on the piston help or would it mess up the piston, and cause it to leak?

  6. hey

i have just been trying to sort out my old magura on me bike, its the old style hs33

basically the master cylinder in the lever keeps getting stuck, i striped the whole lever down and cleaned out all the grime and tried it again but still the same result.

it was last bleed with water using the bath lol, it has also been sat on my bike not used for around a year, perhaps it froze in the winter and has mucked up.

would it help if i got it bleed with oil with the proper bleed kit? or is it likely that the master cylinder is non usable?

any help would be appricated (sp)

    thank you

  7. yo

ive just got back into trials after having about two years out. just played about on my bike and most the basics are still there.

tbo though i picked it back up cause i wanted to have fun with it again. i wouldnt worry about how you "rubbish" you may look. there are many riders who never really even picked up trials to quickly who ive met on rides. but they show up cause they enjoy it.

im sure it will come back after awhile, also just start with the basics again like balance etc. balance seems to be the only thing i havant been able to pick back up again quickly, lol.

  8. land on your feet not your head.

where a helmet, bones get fixed heads get brain damage.

    improvise in all situations.

know when to let go of your bike!

i dont think there has been any major injuries eg life threatening, (correct me if im wrong) un like in other extream mountain biking.

  9. haha

im not as old school in trials as some of the people here. i started when the top brands were brisa and koxxs. there were no others really.

my first "trials" bike was a saracen xcile, d521's elgato tyres, some bars i found in halfords. at the time it was amazing.

old school was also trying to do a gap at the same time as a gap, haha

i still however ride a leeson so i havant really gone.... new school? :S

  10. Don't know if its already been said, but...

I was having a 'current affairs' sort of chat with my economist dad and my uncle who is/was vice chairman of Goldman Sachs. Discovered that this is yet another topic they could talk me to death on...

All the 'easy oil' has been found. Oil companys are going to have to make some serious effort to locate more, although there is more. Crude oil is at 135 USD (give or take a little bit) a barrel currently (media along with everybody else was going crazy when it reached $100). Goldmans reckons its going to reach $200 per barrel, stay there, then eventually go back down pretty quickly. This is making people holding, say $10m in oil stocks that they bought 6 months ago, to keep holding on to it. Bit of a no-brainer, do you sell it now to stop people getting annoyed, or do you wait a bit longer and line your pockets..? Obvious. So these fat cat oil stockists will hold on to this oil as long as they can so they can make the most money out of it. However, because there are so many of these people holding oil stocks, what will inevitably happen, due to their own greed, is - They'll wait as long as they possibly can to sell, so as soon as the market shows any sign of devaluing - they sell up. With all these people selling up their huge stocks of oil at the same time, the price will fall because there will be so much supply, and the same old constant level of demand.

My dad flipped my thinking around by saying that - Short term, everybody is wingeing about high petrol prices. Long term, this is making car companys/any body else who fancys it put A LOT of thought and serious money into researching new ways to run things i.e. batteries etc (bit more complicated than batteries, but you get the idea).

Thats probably been f**king hard to read because I'm writing this at way past my bed, time, but trust me - I'm talking sense.

Edit: Hahahaha Just found out on google that my uncle is non-executive director of Yell Group PLC (Thats yellow pages to you and me). Looool.

i agree with this chap, i was speaking to my economics lecturer about a similar topics on energy.

basically why should they change what they sell if its making them such a big profit, because oils are such a important product to everything we use i think the oil company's can do what they like.

i also think if any one found an alternative to any thing oil based, e.g .petrol that would work on a mass produced level that they would end up with a someone on their doorstep with a blank check and a pen. it makes sense to me.

i think there may also be already be alternatives but like like i said before that they have already been bought out by big oil companies, also just because something hasn't come out in the news doesn't mean that it hasn't happened, im sure there is loads of stuff that the government and media are hiding from the public.

this however is only a theory which i believe might be true, in my opinion.

who knows, we might all be f**ked still! haha

  11. I strongly suggest Death Note mate - best series I've ever seen regardless of it being Anime.

lol i already said that in my first post. but still agree with you.

everyone watch death note! its amazing :P

  12. to be honest we live in a society where most people aren't particularly happy and there for really on drugs to help them become more confident, happy or just to relax because they feel they can't do this without drugs, weather this is alcohol, fags or ecstasy.

even as a speak im drinking a strongbow right now and why, to relax me.

as far as it comes down to weather or not you take ecstasy, that is completely up to you, you don't need a forum telling you your going to die from taking it or how good the buzz is, you just have to realize are you prepared for what ever may happen e.g. potentially ending up become addicted which could ruin your life.

personally im not down with it, the furthest i go is alcohol.

i think i was 17 pages to late to give an opinion :P any way
