Rear Brake Ok For Front

J Trials 31

Recommended Posts

I am planning on buying a rear 180 mm Magura Louise. Would everything in the kit be ok for putting on the front or will I need an adaptor?

I'm new to discs, I always ran HS-33's.

you'll have to flip the lever. so it could screw up bleeding it, i'd also imagine you need an adaptor for the caliper as rear mounts are shaped/spaced differently to front mounts.

I'm running it moto style.

the rear 180 adaptor is the same as a front 200. so you can either change the rotor or the adaptor, the hose will also be way too long

What adaptor do I get or what rotor? A 200 rotor? I don't really want to go that big. If that's so, I'd get a 160 and get a 180 rotor.

ah right ok that makes more sense, shoulda kinda figured that as you're not from the uk! erm so yeah rear adaptors are 20mm bigger than fronts.so just need to buy an adaptor accordingly.

Alright, thanks! It looks like it will actually be cheaper for me to just buy a Hope instead of getting a different adaptor.
