We call them that because they are the biggest posers of them all and the best we could come up with as a group (non-wiggers) was to take a terrible racial slur and make it about these guys. Stupid white people, they make me hate being white sometimes. It's the same over here though, get them in a group of 3+ and they're tough guys. Oh yeah, super tough.
