The top race deforms, and you get permanent play which can't be erradicated without a new top race!Having had a look at an echo SL headset last weekend, I can safely say it looked lovely, felt perfectly tight and smooth, and weighs absolutely sodd all! Like i said it is alittle heavy, but in my opinion excellent value for money.Hope its helps, i personally would take it over the echo any day, on a budget! psycholist Posted November 27, 2008 Report Share Posted November 27, 2008 I've had a quite a few FSA pigs on XC bikes and after about two years something in the bearing races seems to deform and the play can't be adjusted out of them. The one I used in a trials bike lasted longer than that, so if that's the money you feel like spending it seems a good investment. The top race deforms, and you get permanent play which can't be erradicated without a new top race!They are good for trials, seems you must have had some very bad experience with yours.My friend broke 2 Echo headsets in a matter of a month or two, and an FSA Pig shortly before that. He's been using his King for well over a year now.I've also got a King and am very happy with it but then i'm not what you'd consider a basher.
