Right I'll make a step by step guide for you:

- Undo everything off of your lever including the lever blade

- Using a small allen key ease the piston out of the lever (Sometimes they come out easily sometimes they wont) What exact year is your maggie?

- After youve got the piston out make sure youv'e got the spring and keep it all safe.

- Take your hosing off.

- Have a look at the seal and see if it looks good, does the inside of the lever where the piston goes look at all damaged?

- Regardless of the above point buy a small package of cement, (1 bag should do it) and add water.

- Mix it up and fill your lever with it as much as you can (where the piston used to fit in)

- Put your lever back on dont bother about trying to bleed it, make sure it is all re-assembled within 30 minutes.

Wont that just stop the whole leaver moving?

yea but it won't be f**king spongey anymore!

I've always just taken the hosing and bleed nut off the lever, and chucked it in a pan with fairy liquid, and brought it to boil. The piston pops out, and all the gack from inside the lever body settles to the bottom of the pan, then you can lube up your nice clean piston and stick it back in your nice clean lever body.

Watch out though, the fairy liquid foams up fast when it starts to boil :P

1.Remove the lever by undoing the pivot bolt.

2.Lever comes complete with adjuster and all that shit.

3.Connect a bleed nipple to the caliper end of the brake (leave the brake on the bike with a bit o wood or something between the calipers not your wheel)

4.Using a large syringe pump oil into the system.

5.The piston should push out.

6.If it doesn't and oil pisses everywhere then the seals will be f**ked.

7.Get hold of the bit of piston sticking out the top and give it a tug after removing the syringe and opening the system at the lever bleed screw. (if this doesn't work go with simpsons method)

8.Now you have the piston out the seal can be taken off using a small flat screwdriver, do not bust it. The orange coloured one is only a dust seal and is not part of the pressure system, it's the black one you need, find a bearing supplier near you and take the seal/piston with you they should be able to help you find a new one they are nothing majical and are used in many hydraulic systems just tell them they are off a hydraulic system that uses mineral oil otherwise they will just tell you to contact the manufacturer to save them the hassle.

9.Clean your piston and cylinder out as best you can, you need to get all the shit off or your new seal will soon be f**ked. Replace your new seal by sliding it on from the bottom of the piston with a bit of oil for lube till it is seated in the slot.

10. With the bleed screw on the lever undone push the piston back in.

11. Wind the adjuster all the way minus, bleed through with syringe from the bottom.

12. Clean any oil up from your lever.

13. Test your brake and go riding.
