Just Ordered My Onza Pro 09

Recommended Posts

How long have you been riding for mate once you get it you should get a rear hydraulic disk brake as onza disk f**k up after about 2 weeks my had one and it broke after 2 weeks

I havent really been riding trials that long, mostly been riding bmx.

What hydraulic rear disk would you recommend?

Dont listen to that above quote. They do not f**k up after abit of riding. I advise you to just to get an avid lever and you are sorted mate. The onza brakes are really good as they are duel pull (both pads move, rather than one).

Get new rims, bars, stem and forks and you are game, mate. :)

Monty bars and stem:)

Change of forks, bars and stem and your sorted, maybe some avid sd7 levers for more comfort.

Forks, i would go with echo lights, best forks i had on my mod.

Stem, Something with a bit of rise, (low front end set ups are shit).

Bars, you want risers, Rockman riser, Try-all rage, Monty 221 ti, although i would reccomend trialtech riser bars.

Duel pull a, how does that work out of interest; getting one cable to make two pads move? Please explain

I've heard on many occasions that the cable disks on onza's are suprisingly good, aparently they hold pretty well, so dont listen to anyone else who says different. Firstly ride your bike then if you find the brakes arent upto it you can easily upgrade to hydro disks. ;)

Duel pull - both pads move

Single pull (most brakes on the market) - one pad moves whilst the other is static and this also slighty flexes the rotor. :)

Wow just realised I have posted afew replies not being a complete titwank to anyone. :)

Yer I get that it would move both pads but how? You would need two arms on the caliper to get both pads to move at the same time wouldn't you? A hydraulic brake uses the fluid to push both pad but I don't get how a cable brake could achieve this duel movement?

ignoar every one in this post......

People cant really say what needs upgrading yet.......ride the bike for a good 2/3 months......get a real feel for trials

then you may find the stems to long or bars not enough rise ect ect

rims forks and brakes are all fine untill you need more strength and power in the components
