Front Freewheel

Who ever told you that slap him/her. Having a FFW does not mean it will keep your chain tensioned. It's what tensioner you use that will give you a good or bad chain tension.

And maybe be a little more specific on which particular FW you are talking about here. There's loads of FW out there, some absolutely shit, some so good it's like the work of god. :P

In the cases of front freewheels you sort of get what you pay for really, with a few exceptions!

Such as the ACS Claw is cheap and cheerful

But the echo tr is pretty cheap but really good!

Also a few front freewheels have replaceable parts such a pawls, springs and bearings. They are the tensiles and ENO's

You can run smaller gears.

The weight is shifted to the middle of the bike.

You have less chain.

Your bike weighs less.

as said above really, just to add to it smaller cogs give you more ground clearence also which is one of the big factors why it all went front freewheel.

tell us what bike you have, things such as rear hub, cranks. as you need to have cranks that have a thread on them and not a bolt on sprocket.

If you want to run a front freewheel you will need new cranks.

And if you want to get a new rear freewheel then get a 22 tooth chain ring for your cranks or your kick will be really light.

My kick is really light... I know... Meh stupid onza gearing. You reckon I should get a new chain ring?

He rides mod though. Different gearing to stock.

Most mods are 18:12 with a front freewheel,

If you want a rear freewheel then to get it to feel the same as 18:12 you'll need a 27 tooth chain ring which is just stupid.
