From personal experince on bigger bikes long stem gives more backwheel control, slightly slower to lift up. Shorter makes it more flicky and easier to pull up at the expense of having slouched shoulders and feeling a little more skittish to control when on the back wheel.

It's going to be a mod though, in which case i'd say stop being a baby and just buy one. You'll get used to it. I'm currently bunnyhopping a t-rex with a 135mmx15 stem. Any mod should be bunnyhoppable, you just have to get used to it.

I'm in the same situation. Going back to a long bike (echo lite) and and not sure what stem to use. I was thinking a short stem ie 150mm might be better. Something like a try-all 3d. What do people run and how do they get on?
