Building A Quarter Pipe/spine

Right I'm going built a quarter pipe and a spine that I can move about. I already have a 8ft long by 4ft wide bit of plywood which I am thinking of cutting in half and using them for the curved bit you go up :P And I will be getting another bit soon.

For the dimensions I'm thinking of having it 3ft high and 4ft wide for the spine as my little brother wont try anything higher right now as he is only 8, would 3ft be a ok height to practice doing a spine ?

And for the quarter it will be 4ft high but I'm not sure how wide to make it will 4ft be wide enough?

I was thinking about taking the planks of wood from my old bed and using them for supporting the plywood so it doesn't cave in. Would this work or not?

How can I figure out the length of the bottom of the quarter if its going to be 3ft high and the plywood is 4ft long (but the length is obviously not going to be 4ft if it's curved) ?

I will post up pictures of my plans tomorrow when I have acess to my laftop :)

EDIT: Edited original plans :)
