Could You Measure Here On Your 20" Trials

Recommended Posts

;)

Your dropouts are spaced at 116mm. To fill the spaces, you will need some of these: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/snail_cams/tryall_cnc_snail_cams/c114p11852.html

Snail cams will fill these spaces, and are also used to tension your chain, as explained here : http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media/guides/maintenance_snail_cam_setup/m5.html

The axles themselves are a tad longer than 116mm so as they can sit in the dropout itself.

The hubs spacing is measured from the outside of the spacers/snail cam across the hub, in the same way the dropouts are measured from the inside.

This determines what frame your hub will fit in.

If you measure the distance from the outside edge of the spacer on one side of the axle, to the outside of the other on the opposite side (across the hub), it should come out near 110mm.

Add the snail cams, one on each side which are roughly 3mm thick, you have a hub spaced at 116mm.

My last hub has a 126mm axle in it, I had a trialtech sport hub

Its just confusing, my dad is saying i need a axle the same as my last

It would of been male, not female then. Just buy cams, or spacers and youll be fine!

100% pal. Your drop-outs bend in because there is nothing there. If there was a 3mm spacer, or a snail-cam either side, It would support that and not bend.

Basically, You have a 110mm rear axle. The frame needs 116mm.

EDIT: Forgot to mention it fully.

Male axles= Bolts screw over the axle ( http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/116mm_fixed_hubs/onza_tpro_open_rear_hub/c62p103.html ) So it needs to be longer!

Female Axle= Bolts screw into the axle ( http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/116mm_fixed_hubs/onza_sealed_disc_rear_2012/c62p10814.html ) So it sits a bit inside your drop-out, or flush!
