Jake.
Sounds like a stock (26" wheels) bike will be good for you to start off on. I'm not from the Manchester area, I'm from the South-East, shame as not many riders here really. Your best bet is to start looking for stocks in the for sale section of the forums, there's a Speedrace solo for sale which I've ridden and it's amazing. Thread is here: link. There's other stocks there too, but I've not ridden them so I can't really give feedback/advice on them. Good luck with your trials riding. xTommyTickles92
Welcome to the Forums! I can also say that the Speedrace Solo is nice to ride as the previous owner was someone that I used to ride with! Good luck finding a bike mate Tom

HippY
As a bike set up a budget. after that go on the for sale forum here, or pinkbike.com buysell/europe, there are a lot of good bikes too. as a bike, try to buy the best what you could from your money. ( see this forum here) Tricks: trashzen.com is it a good site for learning, there are a lot of tricks explained and showed, and you should search it on youtube, there are a lot of videos too what should help you At first, you should improve your balance. Trackstand, Endos, rocking, pivots, backwheelhop, hops, they are easier to learn, and they give a lot of balance to you. and the most important: practice as much as you can. it will be pretty difficult at first, but after that you learnd them, it will be much easier to go on-
jay750
cheers mate! still seems impossible ha atm, and i just need a bike, once i get a bike, i can start learning what bike am i best with? models? makes? sizes?
HippY
have you ever ridden a bmx? or a street trick bike or a mountain bike? there are 3 sizes: mod: 20 inch ( sometimes 19 the backwheel), same as BMX, 24 inch ( some trick bike between stock and mod) and stock, 26 inch ones. Basically they arfe the same size, only the wheels smaller or bigger, the chase and the bar are roughly at the same position, so it doesnt really matter how tall are you. I am 185 cm and 65 kg and i ride a mod, and it is good for learning, altough i will change to 24 inch ones. At first, buy a bike on your experiences. if you are familiar with the small wheel, mod, if the bigger ones, stock. Try to buy the best you could. After that, when you will start to learn trials, you will see that you like that size or not. You could change your bike after that. So at first try to find a good value bike. It does not really matter, what brand is, the most important thing is how good condition is it. After you got, find a spot ( preferebly a quiet spot, you wont get ashamed by any body else or its depenging on you, but if there are other riders, its better) then practice as much as you can,
Lewis Gething
Hey, welcome to Trials Forum! I'd recommend going for a stock bike, as it will feel slightly more like an ordinary bike than a mod will, especially as you are 6' 4". Once you have got your bike, try not to feel as if you are not progressing as quick as you'd like, as this is something a lot of new riders do. For the first six months to a year you may feel as if no progress has been made and that you shouldn't have bothered getting into trials (I felt the same). Instead of thinking 'Theres so many moves I can't do', try to think of each move one at a time, and learn it very well before moving on. I have only ever ridden with other riders on 2 occasions, but found it to be very very beneficial. So have a look on Trials Forum to see when other riders plan to ride the area near you and get out and join them Most Importantly, have fun on your bike and your skills will develop as you spend more time on the bike. Check out these tutorials to give you some very good tips on various moves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS-QZpvCB58
onza pro series guy
what bike am i best with? models? makes? sizes? it doesnt really matter what model or make you go for as a beginner, just go for whatever is affordable and/or in best condition, this is because most parts are changable from those which are standard to best suit the rider. You couldnt really decide what frame to ride or be told what would be best for you untill you had ridden a bike for a bit and decided what would feel right. The only thing I would say is buy second hand for a 1st bike; especially if its a stepping stone for you. Sizes wise; as said a 26" stock bike. Frame sizes arent listed by manufacturers of trials frames as they are in other diciplines as most frames are small. We cant really advice you on length or rise or any other geo as we dont really know how you want your bike to feel. Edit: I'm from the south-east and I know loads of riders, where abouts are you from 'JMCD'?
