Freewheel Cranks

Recommended Posts

Are running square taper monty cranks at moment and had no problem, nor have my friends. We have limited stuff available here. Trials are fairly small scene here and are fairly loyal to monty importer but he isn't very clued up so wanting to know if this set up works or how much thread space is required for it to work safely ?

best bets are get some zoo cranks or some echo forged cranks. there will be enough room for a bash ring and freewheel on them but make sure your bb is long enough they are meant to be 127.5 or 128mm but jt said he ran a smaller one and it was fine(must have been black magic or something ) :P

Cheers was wondering what length bb would be required. Any ideas what the measurement is for amount of thread on zoo / echo cranks ? If it works with them and they have same length threaded then guess should work with monty too.

well i ran echo cranks before fine with a freewheel and bashring, best thing to do would be email tarty bikes? or speak to daniel ko (trials-uk.com)

Will do. Really liked the look of echo and zoo cranks but aren't they only 170mm in length ie only for 26" Whats the go with echo's external bb's. Are the echo isis cranks designed for this or normal isis bb's or both ?

The external bbs will not take a front freewheel, you'll need a normal isis bb for ffw, and 170mm cranks are amazing on mods they give you more leverage (not loads, but more than shorter cranks) which should make gapping etc easier (Y)
