What Wheel Configuration Do I Get?

Ok! So this is my first post on this forum! I come from a downhill background so all the info i've learned on bike set ups is biased toward building a Heavy, Strong and usually quite expensive machine!

Now i've been "turned", I need advice on building a good quality, user friendly trials bike!!

I'll keep this as simple as possible! What Hub/spoke/rim combo should I be looking at? eg. how many holes in the rim? what brands to use etc... (On my D/H bike i'm running a 36 hole Hope bulb hub set, DT swiss butted spokes, Mavic EX729 disc rims, Maxxis Highroller Super tacky tyres w/ Maxxis freeride tubes! EXPENSIVE, HEAVY AND NO GOOD FOR TRIALS)

Very well said, go for one of those options.

Cool, (completely forgot to say i'll be going for a 26"), always liked Hope so the pro sounds good! I see Tarty bikes are doing a sale on Alex rims! Have to have a good read up on the Echo rim.

Anyways Thanks!

right - apart from the size of tyre .... 2.35 is ample on those rims. oh and get a dual ply probably

The DX 32 is a fine rim and will be uber strong - its really really good for street but falls down slightly on the natural stuff because its not all that wide.

the echo 2007 rim (rear) is an absolute tank and will probably withstand anything you throw at it. super wide super strong but hefty.

you could look at revel rims too . basically there are loads of choices for you - if you were going to buy from the tartys just ring em up and tell em how you ride and they will probably recommend you something suitable.
