The first shipment of 20” V brake bikes is on its way to the U.K. and should arrive at dealers in about 3 weeks. Retail price; £450. ZHI has recently announced the introduction of a sister company BIONIC. The aim of the new company is to produce Trials products at an extremely competitive price. In an effort to get some product under riders as soon as they are available we are considering some promotional options such as extended warranty, discount against any frame etc.

For the record; ZM3's arrive at dealers without brakes, and are priced as such. Customers may then spec their own brakes. Fred.
  10. There is often speculation about a products true point of manufacture. Here’s a sneak preview of a proposed frame, hand built in the USA. Currently built up as a “geo test”, the final item will be greatly refined with a novel variation on the problem of chain tension. More news as it progresses.
  11. Could not resist replying; Jake, you raise some important points, the contradictions puzzle me to. Ali C, it’s not an argument, people are expressing their choice. When the organizational split came I agreed to help continue running events on dates as published at the time, that is how it had always been done, events advertised as early as possible to allow interested parties to make holiday plans etc. For a time the "new organizers" advertised that some of our events would be included in their series. I saw that as a way towards dual activity, I tried to negotiate a joint effort, but at the time there were two major stumbling blocks. 1) The "new organizers" insisted that we use ACU insurance. This was not an option for us. 2) The new organizers insisted that our group pay them £250 for each of our events that we allowed them to use. Financially this was not an option for us. So as the above was unacceptable the divide was in place. The "new organizers" replaced our events with events of their own - ON THE SAME DATES. I have always felt this was foolish to say the least; the clashes could so easily have been avoided. My business operates in the BikeTrial environment, the more events the better, but not clashes, that is just being bloody minded. Let’s take a cold look at the clash; it is likely that the event will attract fewer competitors than Devon, as riders have a choice. As a business where should I go on the day? Last weekend I took a six hour drive down to Devon. The comp disappointingly attracted about 25 riders, 9 of which receive support from me! I would much prefer my Bikes to be viewed by a larger audience, but due to bad organization the BIU series has been poorly attended. Addingham is a great venue, the event will be well attended with all the usual facilities in place, but riders you have a choice, go to the event you think will be best for you. Politics aside Addingham looks to be the favorite Fred.
  12. Stan, please note the time of my first post today. We were got out of bed by a friend of the Wife's this morning begging us to pick her up from close to the A49 as her 4x4 had been washed across the road, she had been rescued by the fire brigade. Radio 4 says 10,000 cars are stuck on the motorways. You Wad and others are traveling south - you have no idea what you are letting yourself in for. I know that any comments I make may been seen as veiled politics - BUT IT IS NOT THE CASE! We should not be obliged to travel - the staus of the event should be lowered for the safety of those that will feel obliged to travel. I have spent all morning trying to plot a safe route - I can't find one. Fred.
  13. Anthony, no one is asking you to cancel, just to alter the status, so as those who do not think they can get through the road closures don't have to try. Fred.
  14. Anthony, by all means run your event (local conditions may be fine), but, please do the responsible thing and remove its championship status. It is completely unreasonable to expect competitors form many parts of the U.K. to set out on a journey that is unadvisable and dangerous. As you are aware it has rained continuously for 36 hours across a huge swath of the country. Many road links are closed, all agencies dealing with road issues are advising people not to embark on journeys. The roads that channel drivers west are in some cases impassable. I would appreciate a statement before I launch the car. Fred Savage.
  15. I don’t intend to post in this thread again as I feel that Jakers contribution pretty well sums it up. The problem with public forums is they are read by the public, many have no idea of the hard work put in by some to bring Trials to the level it enjoyed at the end of 2006. No one can honestly say that the situation that currently exists is better. Having two conflicting championships is not the ideal solution, but if “we” stopped running events the nation would be left with the lesser of two halves. As things are I doubt we will ever see the likes of this again, take a look. A REMINDER OF OUR WORK
  16. Scott in reply to you; Ben rode with "SamMonty" today, a phone call was made to ask where an entry form could be aquired from, Mrs Tupman responded and said; The event may be cancelled. She said she would call back....................................... It is the only piece of info we have.
  17. Dave, the main problem is the ACU, as an insurance provider they told lies, I will not work with them. When I act as clerk of the course I need confidence that I am protected by a sincere entity and so are the riders I am providing the event for. I tried to form a joint effort with those that organize the "official series" but ACU insurance was compulsory. I and those I work with found that unacceptable, but this is old news. THE POINT NOW IS THAT PEOPLE CLOSE TO THE ORGANISERS HAVE SAID THAT SUNDAYS EVENT AT KELLY FARM WILL BE CANCELLED - IS THIS TRUE?
  18. A little like those that attended the Welsh round! To be serious Dave, those in Europe and the rest of the World know just what is going on. I expect they are wondering why the U.K. fielded such a small team for the Euro's and is about to field its smallest team for many years at the Worlds - no communication or team spirit, when will the U.K. team list for the Worlds be made public? You rode at hook woods, that trial set a standard that events (sorry event) that followed could not live up to. Had you attended I would challenge you to defend the situation. The organisation of Trials events was taken out of the hands of those that gave riders good comps in previous years, including the 2005 World championship. When people have worked hard to provide good events what do you expect them to do if one door is closed? The answer is obvious, the variety of venues, organisation and attendance speak for themselves.
  19. Sorry to hear that James, I was looking forward to your comments on the official series.
  20. Well you can’t keep all the people happy all the time. James, you are first person to complain about the Blackpool event, you must have very high standards. I set the sections with the knowledge that tape would not be used, so I placed the markers in such a way that looping out would not be an advantage. You spectated, a difficult perspective from which to judge a section, I am sorry you were disappointed with what you saw, any comments from you on the “official” series? Or is that perfectly satisfactory in your eyes? We will run another comp at Blackpool, again without tape.
  21. Some interesting comments made here; James Porter, you say its all a mess, in what way are the events I help to organise a mess?
  22. Think about it Joe, its not B******s, when are the comps? Do you know?
  23. Politics aside I have a serious question for those organising the U.K. BikeTrial Championships. When will the final dates for you championship rounds be published? Through my business I sponsor/support a fair few riders. Any one that has ever asked me for sponsorship will know I put a lot of store in a rider’s ability to win competitions and championships, regardless of who is organising them. We have one well organised Championship running in the U.K. with dates available so as competitors may make plans. Unfortunately the other championship with BIU recognition, (for what its worth), remains incomplete, when and where are the rounds? The number of events has gone up from two to four, but there were supposed to be more. People need to make plans if they are to attend, holidays need to be booked, some would like to take in a UCI World Cup or a Spanish round etc, we are ¼ of the way through the year and still the dates are not available, nor is the format, please get your act together. Further more I think it is ludicrous for U.K. BikeTrial to engineer a clash with Tykes two day event, why cause further unnecessary division? Tykes date has been common knowledge for many months I would have thought at the very least it would have been polite to avoid it. Fred Savage.

    Two New Complete Bikes.

The V adapters are ZHI's own product. Here's some detail on the more expensive mod. There are so many brake combinations available now that we are considering supplying the bikes to retailers without brakes fitted, customers can then make their own set up choice.
