  2. Yea stanton is still about he stoped riding for a while, but he has started again he has been riding for about 6-7 months now! how much of a trek is it?
  3. Thanks mate i was thinking this might be the case, because his bars were noisy for a while and then they just went? so your idea sounds spot on. he has just brought some bonttrager d,jump bars? any better?
  4. Hi, Maxis are excellent you sure you got the downhill version because you can get a cheeper version with crap sidewalls which will fray really easy? where you get it from? and how much you pay for it if it was under £20 you probably do have the wrong one (the xc sidewals!!!) hope this hels. look at chainreactioncycles.co.uk they have both typs!
  5. I take it you mean Carl Stanton? its a simple name but its easy to make the mistake I usually put Karl? but anyway I will tell him about the post and he can get it from there mate because he ent working so he never has credit to ring/text? me back to let me know if he has the message etc you can email him he usually answers that. click my name on the forum and send me an email then I will forward his address on.
  6. I am currently ridign 22/21 which seams really slippy now i have hered about yours? but i love this ratio anyway it is a mission to ride anyware but i guess a trials bike was not designed for that anyway? and once you are there you are laughing. Anyone able to tel me what ratio i would have to run if i do go to 18 at the front?
  7. Got to be a hope pro 2 they are excellent, dont go for an xc they are crap against the pro 2!
  8. Hi to all that have posted already! I already know of Carl as I ride with him at the mo anyway and I helped him build up his new ECHO bounce the other day (well nice to ride) anyway I digress, I don't know of the others mentioned? I haven't rode with them in or near Abingdon yet, but we will most probably be out in Abingdon Saturday, (weather permitting) but if everyone lets us know of weekends they are free we can see if everyone is free on the same day and it could be sorted like that? so post your dates you can ride and we will see.
  9. Hi, Is there any riders as the title says in or around Abingdon (R.I.P DJ) area? if there is anyone out there post here and we can arrange a ride over the weekend. there is about 6-7 riders in Abingdon so just pop a post up, and we will arrange a ride at some point? Also anyone else thinking of travelling to ride Abingdon, post and let me know and I will take you around and show you the trials hot spots?
  10. I would go for a Saracen, I have been riding mine for about 7-8 months now and had no troubles what so ever, it rides really nice and considering how cheap they are it has proved well worth the money I paid. I only brought the 2.6 bike which I only have the frame left, as I have slowly added all the parts I want, like pashley forks, azonic stem and bar combo, magura hs33, burns, hope pro2 onza Ronnie rim, maxis tyres etc.......... it is a nice bike to start on and build up gradually as you progress. now I love it and it is riding so nice for me.
  11. Wow that looks the dogs dangly bits! and sod all the adaptors go disk front and rear it wont be much more expensive, and will make the bike look so much cleaner than having adaptors and stuff on it. but so far it is looking so nice.
  12. Well it all depends how new you are to trials, if you are just starting then try to spend as little as possible on it because you are only going to be braking parts all the time. however I know my friend had a load of trouble with running a front freewheel, he must have spent a fortune replacing them all the time because they kept skipping, so maybe if anything get one of the new ECHO, ADAMANT, GU etc...... freewheel hubs from Tarty they seam to be really good for him so far! (fingers crossed). also the most essential part for a trials bike is a decent set of brakes so that is one thing you should not save money on. I hope this helps with the new bike?
  13. I am not really sure, I mostly ride street because it is easier to get to and there is more of it around than natural (as I live in Abingdon, near oxford and there isn't much natural here! lol) but the limited number of times I have rode natural I have really enjoyed it because I feel you need to be a lot more technical with it. however neither is easier or harder as long as you push your limits the same amount on both it is all hard.
  14. opinions needed??? I have changed bars from flat to riser I have some azonic 2 inch risers? but I was riding last night when me and a friend were trying a 9 and a half foot drop gap, when my friends Azonic bars decided to snap on him? I am just wondering what people think about Azonic bars, and if anyone has had a similar experience?
  15. Hi i am considering puying a Adamant fram soon, just wondered what people think of them? and also is there any difference in the A2 and A1 other than the rear triangle? Ryan
  16. Alight Max its me, like i keeep saying get rid of the 20 inch and get a 26 then you wont ever have the same problem Jo might be getting one so, do it HA HA HA.
  17. I agree Stevo was a tru LEDGE! And i am sure he will be missed by all, if we had as many balls on our bikes as he did with the worlds most deadly animals, we would all be f###ing awsome. R.I.P Stevo
  18. Hi, i am currently riding a saracen mad 2.6 which was only £250 but i have upgraded most of the components, but they do higher spec bikes for around £400- £450 and they ent bad specs at all have a look on trialsshop.com or co.uk, but you cauld have a look on ebay for a 2nd hand bargain
