  1. Christ! I won't post mine, mainly 'cos it be shite. Radio is my friend.
  2. Nope, i moved to West Wickham which is about 5 miles away next to Croydon. It's actually in Bromley though. I only got into trials when i moved to West Wickham, so i wouldn't have been looking out for rideable stuff back then :P
  3. ... 1. You see lines around the desks in your classroom 2. You can say 'I ride a 20" Koxx' without laughing Carry on people...
  4. Looks like a full-sus to me? Big Hit maybe? He has a maggie, with a disc rotor on the hub :P Looks good, some nice riding spots you have there :P
  5. I had always been into riding my bike, i seemed to enjoy the freedom. I managed to remove my stabilisers at the age of 4 (they were on a great little Raleigh Grasshopper...16" wheels if i remember correctly. My dad, for some reason, realised my 'hobby' and vowed never to buy me an Apollo or suchlike. On this bike i managed to ride from the Cement works in Shoreham By Sea along the off-road path to my Grandparents house on the seafront. This was a 5 mile trip - pretty big for a single speed 16" wheeled bike and a 6 year old! I recieved a Raleigh Max Extreme (which i later went on to remove the stickers, leaving only the XTR of EXTREME :"> ) for christmas. My dad, brother and i went up to Shropshire to ride up the Wrekin (big hill/very very small mountain) and i picked up an issue of MBUK from a service station on the way up. Thats what got me into it really, i read that from cover to cover so many times it was silly. Started setting up small wooden jumps in front of my house (Crystal Palace) and i remember setting up a jump and clearing 5' 5" - i could jump the length of Mummy! Bought a GT Talera in 'Sunburst Orange' with Rockshox Indy C's and WTB Velociraptor tyres as my first proper bike. That's in bits in Jake's garage. Saved up and bought an Azonic DS1 jump bike, and got bored with having to travel miles to ride jumps, so i converted it (rigid forks, DMR ringthing) in order to ride streety trials. Just so happened Chris Towes of M.A.D 'fame' and a couple of other trialsters rode in my town, so i started copying them. Got to an alright stage of trials-ness, and decided to buy a Giant Trials team with proper trials bits on it. (Also happens to be in Jake's garage) Bought a Koxx LB 1065 recently off Jake, and thats where i am now. /Longest post ever.
  6. Looking good People! Would there be any point in making a 'compromise' frame? I.e one that has a BB rise somewhere in between the Prototype and the T-rex? To give the best of both worlds... How much does the Prototype weigh? As Simon said, bringing it to the Bikeshow would give us lot a chance to see it in the flesh, and maybe even give it a quick ride... Good to see someone taking initiative and trying out ideas (Y) Woody
  7. Frames: Stock: Onza T-Rex 2 is an excellent frame, 1080 wheelbase (depending on forks), Nearly half the price of a Koxx, and similar if not better performance. Can be purchased from Tartybikes Mod: The T-pro is still one of the best around. Brake pads: HS33 - Heatsink pads work really well, Tarty pads are supposed to be good (available from Tarty bikes) and Rimjams have had mixed reviews. V brake: Plazmatic CRV's are good on both a grind or a smooth rim, Spanish Flies work best on a grind. Tyres: Maxxis tyres seem to be the best out there at the moment. They're also pretty cheap. Have a look on Chainreaction for them - Make sure you get a 'Dual Ply' rear tyre and a 'Single ply' front one. Also, try and get them in the Maxxpro 60a compound, this is harder then the others and will not wear out as fast :D
  8. I hate... Having to ride with stripped 4 bolt mounts Injury Having no one to ride with Having to ride the same spots over and over again No natural within about 40 miles S'about it i think. Other than that, it's bootyful.
  9. Out of interest, what is that 'thing' by Mr Frog's crotch?
  10. You're giving up riding Stephen?!? (N) I'm gonna be the only one left soon, we're dropping like flies! Anyways... We had about 5 minutes of snow here today, but nothing settled at all. It was just freezing all day. So it was a little bit crap.

    Watch Out!

I have 2 Animal ones from about 4 years ago. I can't find a pic 'cos they arn't made anymore. Anywho, they cost me £50 each when new from the Boat show in London. One's in my riding bag, and the other is at the bottom of the River Dart somewhere...
  12. For taps and stuff i visualise it: I kinda go 'boom boom boom' in my head as i think about the pedal stroke, the tap then getting it up to backwheel. Sometimes random songs/tunes are going through my head. Sometimes nothing. Depends.
  13. Yeh as has been said i's most likely to be chainsuck... The teeth on the chainring become hooked were the chain has worn it's self into the back of each tooth. This causes the chain to hook onto the chainring so it picks it up, then falls, causing a skip.
  14. Stephen, out of curiosity, does this have to be on a strict subject eg. Court room Crime Drama etc. or is it more open-ended?
  15. As Mr Simon says, it was just the standard Shell>Orange I Max walls>Gaps on the way to Tate>Tate>City of London school>St Pauls... Really good day, everyone was riding nice and large (Y) Nick.
  16. I havn't tried sprays and stuff, when i had mine i found some shiny plastic strips and put them between the grip and the bar, slid them on (went on easy as pie) then slid out the plastic strips ^_^

Looking good Adam, hope to see it in London sometime soon. P.S: Don't you find your levers uncomfortable at that angle? They look really flat...
  18. Search? There have been soooo many topics on pads, it's not funny.

  21. I've broken a Hope axle, but thats it. Actually, in the 2.5 years i've been riding, the Hope axle and a dozen or so spokes are all that i have broken. Must not be riding hard enough

  23. I'm soon gonna purchase some Heatsink pads, so i'll get grinding when i recieve them. I'll try a harsher grind this time. My mates have recently ground theirs, so i'll see what it's like
