  1. Sadly it looks like my biketrial days are over. My 45 year old body suffers too much after a ride now and I am concentrating on my Moto Trials riding. But i have lived near this area for 10 years and had lots of fun on those rocks... they don't like the motorcycles on there though, the wardens and police appear a bit quick!! May be a nice Meta up for grabs soon! .. and yes he did go down on that long dab picture but amazingly saved himself and the bike from much other than a scuff to each!
  2. Ryan and John popped down to Sandbay for a little ride on the rocks... as it is only 3 minutes from my house i thought it rude not to take the camera along. ... Ryans freshly built Hydroxx 2 ... and not a good spot to take a quick dab.. more from the ride HERE
  3. Very nice... was thinking about trying to ride again but you just made me feel really shit about my riding
  4. well spotted... i broke it on the rocks in wales a few weeks ago and have now had it re-welded and strengthened.
  5. Put silver carbon fibre fork guards on now, and new grips and bar ends. ... Rode a trial today in very a very muddy location, by the time i got to the first section you couldn't see the bike at all!!!
  6. .. as said above, you can road rego them but really only ideal for going between sections on the road when required. The tyres are so soft they wouldn't last 5 minutes if used on the road regularly. You can get a 5 year old bike for around a grand now, and they are more than capable still. Joining a local trials club will only cost you a fiver or so and entry to comps is about 12 to 15 quid which means you are insured and have somewhere legal to ride.
  7. http://www.photobysergio.fr/raga-video-fev-2010.html ... nice bit of quarry playing.
  8. The motorcycle trials season is in full swing again so the Meta has been left in the garage and I have been riding comps on my 2010 290 Beta evo.. Only problem is that they are very popular so i have just fitted what i think maybe the first 2010 TopTrialTeam graphics kit to mine so, for a while, it may be easier to find when i park it up and look at a section!!
  9. He gets a page on a French Moto trial site also... all helps to spread the word. =4794&tx_ttnews[backPid]=68&cHash=9770070bb7]HERE ... and if you are in france you can get the new TrialMagazine with free Danny Mac inside..!!!
  10. ... now i have to be careful what i say here because of the PC brigade... but i would have a guess to say that they may live in caravans, pay no tax and leave shit everywhere they go and empty garages!!
  11. It is around 1500 feet above sea level there, i have ridden there in the past when a storm came through and you couldn't see your hand in front of you let alone find the car again!! The clouds you see in the background came over just before we left and covered the area where that picture was taken.... it's bleak up there at the best of times let alone when you wander around in cloud with 100 foot drops by the side of you
  12. I convinced Robmitch to pop over to an old motorcycle riding spot in wales with me this morning to see if he liked it for biketrials.... It has been been sunny in weston super mare most the week and today was also lovely and clear... this is what we found when we got there...!! ... no helmets on as we had just decided to walk the bikes up to the top of the mountain for the view and wore wooly hats. By the time we got there we had a sweat on!! It is a funny feeling seeing a 12 inch drop in front of you but landing a further foot or so into the snow! ... a few more images here on photobucket
  13. Ryan Pekala helped set out the sections and then observed at this weekends Stroud Valley club motorcycle club trial that i rode in... after all us moto guys had finished he went for a quick play on his Boxx. Maybe the last as he has a Hydroxx 2 ltd he is building up. Third picture is some of the parts he has for the Hydroxx build, expensive bits but should allow a 8.5kg build. A few more images of his ride here on photobucket
  14. Us old gits are tight arses aren't we Don't worry about the underside mate... stick that pad on the top of the top tube!!! Believe me when you are learning you are more likely to crack you knackers!!
  15. What about very old and useless riders... but have a web site that gets over 1000 hits a day
  16. http://vimeo.com/8647452 ... i had one of those Sunn frames from that era!!
  17. I attended the bvm motorcycle trials test day yesterday, was a bit cold standing around in a quarry at the top of the cotswolds all day so towards the end i got the Meta out of the car for a hop to keep warm... feels really weird riding in full moto kit, but a safe feeling
  18. .. no, still can't do it!! But getting closer. I found a little area to try it on yesterday...
  19. I can back hop the Meta well, bet i can't do it on the Beta!! A few spare back mudguards and i will give it a try!
  20. Pontypool dmmc is running a sporting trial on 13th December 09 at cwrt Henllys farm Cwmbran(NP44 7AS) a good venue. 3 routes and classes for all. Either Dai Clothier or Phil Evans will be clerk of the course. Contact Rob Cobley 01495 769039 for more. ... just in case you wanted something to do
  21. Larson on the rear... no snakebites yet but i am a shit rider, and very old!! Now i have the Beta I will be using the Meta for just messing about when time, weather and daylight allow just to try and keep fit for the moto stuff. Not into TGS street stuff, prefer section type riding and i am not good enough or brave enough to do all the big drop-offs. I enjoy just playing on the jumbles of rock on the sea front here or up the road in cheddar gorge and this time of the year it proves a bit difficult!!
  22. revs quicker.. and no over run at the top of something. When you shut the throttle at the top it stops, rather than still runs on a little way.
  23. Got a new toy today..... wont stay standard for long... but for now it is a standard 2010 290 Beta Evo with the flywheel weight removed and a few carb tweeks. a few more images can be seen HERE
  24. sorry if re-post but thought i would share it.. http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/...in-london-24097
